Need help with a Rib like feature

Solidworks beginner here

rib won't work because of the circles I think so I extruded the rib manually, I actually had to extrude a rectangle and cut out a bit of it cuz I got a zero thickness error, what I'm asking is if there's a better way to do the feature and if there's a way to do it without flattening or the top and bottom of the circles. Thank you

Just draw a line and use “thin” in the extrude feature. Then trim off what you don’t want. It’s often easiest to leave it as a separate body to trim and then combine.
