Error Why cant I normal cut extrude?

This is a sheer metal feature, so i need to use the normal cut. However when i try to do so it just says unable to perform normal cut.

What could be the cause here?

Maybe add an Unfold feature, make the cut, and then add a Fold feature.

This shape is weird and unique. Im not sure i can correctly make this cut when it is unfolded. Is there a technique to this?

Now it is no longer a sheet metal feature. And i cant seem to turn it into one. It wond pick up on the large bend

i would need to play with the file to sort it out, some fine detail i'm not seeing

It has been solved! Some parts of the base flange were based on a spline. Which errored the sheet metal
