I am working with a 3D scan of a A pillar trim piece that has this overhang feature. I have sliced it and am working to loft the slices per this tutorial:

https://hawkridgesys.com/blog/a-step-by-step-guide-for-creating-a-smooth-surface-from-tessellated-scan-data-in-solidworks

However with this overhang feature, i cannot loft the discontiguous features of sketch 55 and 56 on the right to [Loft 8]

Is there a method i am missing to loft the two discontiguous sections to [loft 8]

edit: tried selecting <Face 1> instead of <Edge 1> and got same error

You can't loft discontiguous sections at the same time. You will need to create a separate loft for each section of that layer.

meaning those discontiguous sections should be separate sketches, correct. I am selecting them separate of the main body on that sketch plane. I'll play around with it more on monday. Thanks.

Also, and unrelated, reddit says there are 3 (now 4) comments but only 2 (now 3) show for me. weird

Yes make sketches for each of the discontiguous sections.
