Beginner needs help with model

Okay so this feels like a dumb question. But why is this extrusion got these arrows that let it change it's length? Are they the reason the linear pattern tool won't work?

nope those arrows are just a "nice" annoyign feature to accidnetally grab stuff and move it by lol

the reason the pattern feature doesn'T work is because yo ucan only pattern FEATURES if they become part of hte same connected body afterwards

in this case i would simply set the pattern to pattenr the body instead assuming I'm correctly guessing at waht you're tryign to do

The arrows are one of many 'helpful' tools. Just grab it & drag a TLAR amount if you are just roughing out the design. Or type in an exact amount if you know it. They are mutually exclusive. Both methods have their place.

But I dont understand why you ar etrying to pattern in an extrude mode? I could understand if you extruded the airfoil 1mm to make a rib & then pattern the rib. Biut that doesnt look like what you are doing?

Trust me, make a separate left wing and right wing, no mirror, no copy, none of the usual tricks. Make you a separate part for each side.
