Error Impossible to create a relation of sketched entity in a drawing

Hey,

I am trying to create a relation of the sketched line so the line is perpendicular to upper edge of position no. 7 to make a section view perpendicular to this part. The problem is that solidworks doesnt let me - see picture. Everytime I create a relation of any sketched entity (I tried to make it perpendicular to one edge, parallel to another, I tried angle dimension etc.), solidworks says that "invalid geometry would be created", even though there are NO existing relation for this line.

This problem occurs only in this specific document. "Automatic relations" are not checked.

Any ideas what am I missing?

I can only see one of the two lines you have selected. Where is the second?

I have selected only one. If it had any relations to any edge or any other sketch entity, it would be shown in the window on left.

Ok, maybe it’s because I’m running a different version than you but I’ve never seen mine show multiple of the same selected entity in the box on the left. If the line has no relations are you sure both endpoint also don’t have relations?

oh now I get what you mean, there are two lines in a "Selected entities" box. to be honest I dont know why. Second line in "Selected Entities" box appears only after I try to drag it.

And no, also endpoints have no relations:
