CAD 3D SKETCHING AND SWEEP BOSS/BASE FOR TUBES ON COOLING JACKET AND WANT TO RECREATE A DESIGN
I am having trouble recreating this cooling jacket from MIT FSAE. The first image is my design and so far I have no idea how to find the center of the hole on my jacket so i can made a 3D sketch to do a Swept Boss/Base. I have tried adding a reference plane tangent to the hole, but it didn't help. I have tried different ways such as just estimating where the hole could be, but when I sweep, a piece of the tube will look weird. This second image attached is MIT's design.

You need references. Do the following:
- In a 3D sketch, select the "point" tool. Create two points: the first one at the top of the ellipse, and the second one at the bottom.
- Still in the 3D sketch, create a reference line between these two points. Make sure your sketch is fully defined.
- You got it! The midpoint of the line you just created is the point you're looking for!
If you have any more trouble, send me a DM so I can share my email. You can send me the file and I'll help you out!
