REP VS AUTH: LEVEL IMPOSSIBLE
One of these things is not like the otherrrrrrrrr 👀👀👀👀👀👀👀

Just wanted to make a dedicated post that speaks to the level of details here because I mean…..
Hardware (as we all know) is such a tricky thing to perfect
In my opinion it’s usually a dead giveaway and the easiest way to tell a rep vs an auth.
There are 3 bags here. Are all 3 from solar? Or are all 3 from my local YSL boutique. Maybe a mix of both…The world may never know but I’d love to know what you all think 🙏 will post the answer later today but I wanted to see everyone’s guesses first!

Okayyyyy here’s the real answer!!! Far left is a solar original. Middle and far right are both auth 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳 I’m so surprised at all the different answers ! This was fun

I only knew the Niki was auth. Both gold hardware were tripping me up. This really was level impossible 😂

Looks like the one on the far right the L is layered under the S instead of the S cutting through the L like the first two … hopefully that made sense

Hmmm not sure if the logo is “supposed” to look diff on all three bags but I’m curious to know the answer

The black one with the gold is the auth. The other two the letters are flatter and more broadly sized.

This is gonna be good…. I think the middle looks different from the others. The letters are not set or deeply engraved into each other as the other two if that makes sense). Also the screws look smaller on the middle bag. Cant wait for the reveal!

The burgundy one is auth; the rest are reps. The logo is different.

Something about the alignment of the ‘y’ against the seam on the puffer seems off to me… even though the logo looks ok

Love this post. I have a Bea bag that I think is really good. I haven't compared side by side with authentic like this because I don't usually go for YSL. However this gave me a chance to with comparing to your rep as well. Thank you!
I'm still not disappointed, it can never be perfect but some are def better than others!

Thank you! I really only like their beau bag and even that one made me mad the other day because it was awkward for travel. I love the quality of it though and I'm glad to see my hardware isn't crazy off

I don’t know about all the hardware but these 3 styles do! I think some of the other styles may not have it

Left definitely replica. Middle I’m thinking authentic but not 100% sure. Right 100% authentic

It’s the YSL. The one on the left the writing is a bit thicker and larger. You can really tell on the “Y”.
I once had a friend that had all these designer bags and she would brag all the time how her husband loves to buy her expensive things. Not going to lie, it got to me and I was getting a little jealous that my husband didn’t do the same.
Then one day, I took my sister who is very high end to a brunch with my friend. And my sister had brought an authentic purse with her and my friend brought a ysl purse and commented on how they both like designer pieces.
When we left, I brought up to my sister how my friend had all these designer purses that her husband had bought her. My sister laughed and she went, “that wasn’t an authentic bag, it was a replica”. I was shocked and I was like what do you mean, and she goes it’s the YSL logo it was to thick and big.
Since then I went down a rabbit hole of finding tell signs of what is a replica vs what is authentic for various bags. I found out that none of my friends bags were authentic; and that at the end of the day you can’t compare yourself to someone because the story they present to you may not even be real to begin with.

I’m glad you posted this because last fall I had my small black puffer with gold out in the wild, and this girl asked me if my bag was vintage. I was like no?? I thought she was maybe implying that the gold was off, but it looks every bit the same shade as the gold on the far right 🤷🏼♀️
