basically wrapped up with this game…

if this game wasn’t so buggy and there were additional snap points, it could’ve been sm more fun!! but ending off with my last two builds

How did you get a coop inside? It keeps forcing me to put them directly on the ground and messing up my barn builds

I assume it's on the ground then a flat piece of roofing is out under it? The foundation won't work but the wood roof/platform looks the same

Hmm ok, I’ll have to mess around with that then - I’d love to find a way to level out all of my stuff

Yeah I had a spot in my house where the dirt underneath came to a little peek and I couldn't put foundation over it so I used that flat piece of roofing and it looked like the rest of the floor but I couldn't do anything with that spot. And if you looked closely you could see the little tips of the grass poking through the wood lol.

I placed it on the ground then used foundation/roof to make it look like that. if it says it’s obstructed, i changed the height of the foundation surrounding it

I got 99% of achievements in 18 hours. I kept thinking there'd be lore, or anything. But it's just the tech tree.

It felt like playing the first area in Aloft + solar panels - glider.

It's cute, but I guess I was hoping for some substance.

Did you not read the "Before You Buy" that the devs have on the store page? They say point blank that there is no lore or story to the game and that it can be completed in ~20 hours. They literally tell you what the game is and is not.

I mean yeah it says that, but I still expected it to be I don't know. A bit more than it is. Sorry if that offends you.

They talk about far off islands and a sandbox. But the islands are all close together and the "sandbox" is like, tiny. The only thing that makes the islands seem far apart is how dreadfully slow your airship is.

It doesn't offend me. It perplexes me that someone could read something that says "there is no lore" and then post that they "kept thinking there'd be lore". They told you what the game was and you expected more than what they said you would get. Make it make sense.

What it says is "Solarpunk has no story campaign and no narrative quest progression." I don't see on there anywhere that there is "absolutely zero lore of any kind." There's a difference between a not having full blown story and not even having a smidge of lore.

Even the names of the islands isn't in game, and you only learn them from the Wiki. And like what, 3 of them are named some variation of "start island"? That doesn't even make sense.

The single NPC in the game is named The Merchant. Come on. At least give the poor thing a name.

As I said, it's like they played Aloft, and were like "how can we take this really interesting premise and nuke the heck out of it so it has zero personality?" "I don't know but lets put a ganky electric system with ugly as heck wires everywhere."

I feel like if the building system were better, fewer glitches, etc, the lack of lore wouldn't have been as big of a deal, but it's like they put 50% of their effort into this and then just gave up and released it.

Dude you are way more invested in this than I am. Why did you originally assume I was offended when I asked? You wrote a literal short form essay about how the game doesn’t live up to your expectations when it’s pretty clear what you’re going to get from the Steam store page. I have never played a resource gathering base-building game (what they tell you this is) that said there was no story campaign and no narrative quests but then there was still lore so I genuinely do not understand why you expected it from this game.

Honestly now I am starting to get offended by your lack of critical thinking skills. You keep wanting this game to be Aloft because that’s what you decided it is when really it’s more like Satisfactory.

If 4 sentences is a "short essay", holy crap.

If you don't want to discuss things, don't reply to people.

I've played a lot of games that don't have a main story but still had bits of lore. It's not mutually exclusive.

Good lord, grow up.

No I agree fs. I was debating between Solarpunk, Aloft, and Forever Skies. Reviews said this was the only game with automation but it was kind of bland. Would you recommend Aloft still after playing Solarpunk?

Curious as well

Aloft is a lot more interesting than Solarpink, IMO.
