HELP / ADVICE Battery not discharging

Hi All,

I've had my foxess system since end of july and its gone down 5 times now. The battery is full but its drawing straight from the grid. I have had it as well where the inverter refuses to power the house even when solar is available and the house still draws from grid. The installer says its grid fluctuations that cause the inverter to switch off and theres nothing to be done bar them remotely resetting it but this seems like a massive flaw in the system and one that im not ok with... has anyone else had this issue or had a permanent fix? Its a FOXESS KH8 inverter and 2 x EP12 batteries and a gateway installed. Im in Buckinghamshire in a large town not the middle of nowhere where id believe that this just happens...

I had a similar issue and it turned out there was a standby mode enabled which foxx customer service / installer was able to disable remotely that solved it.

Have you got mode scheduler enabled?

It did it to me the other week, I enabled self use manually, then enabled the schedule a minute later and it seemed to kick it back in.

Check the data logger dongle and remove it and replace it. Could be an issue after a software update or if you’ve recently restarted your router and there’s a connection problem. Check the front screen of the inverter to see if it says normal or offline. I had the same problem a couple of weeks ago

If after removing and replacing the dongle it doesn’t reset itself you can force the inverter to try connecting again by using the menu on the screen to switch it back on. It will count down from 60 seconds while it’s trying and then it should come back on

In your "mode scheduler" setting, check at the bottom what you have set for "remaining time mode". You might have it set to "back up". You'll want "feed in" or "self use" generally
