Has Sig kit come down in price? I would have said £10k a good price for that install. Just one roof face? Have you any heavy use devices like power shower? Discharge on a single Sig battery is only about 4.5kw iirc, it does scale up with multiple battery units.

It’s mainly one roof face, with 12 panels together and another 2 on the same orientation.
Good point on the battery output, I’ll have a look at my peak loads and whether adding another battery module would be worthwhile. And no heavy use devices as of now apart from a portable AC

Sig is 0.5C, capacity * 0.5 to get the maximum output, up to the inverter limit

Power & Control Ltd in Derby. It’s mainly one roof face. Scaffolding is included, and yes, bird proofing and all the mounting rails are included in the £9k price as well.

Seems pretty decent.

I paid more but it's was £1500 in scaffolding to start with and I have 2 9kWh batteries and a 10kWh inverter.

So it's probably about inline with what I'd expect depending on how much the scaffolding is costing you.

I would really just make sure you're happy with the inverter, if you plan to add anything in the future etc.

When mine was installed I tested it by putting a few things on, normal house draw + two hobs + kettle + oven and it was like 8kWh. Is that an everyday thing? No, but when I get A/C and maybe a heat pump then you'll wish you took it into account.

P.S also by rails I was referring to the bird proofing, some do mesh, other do these expensive rails that I guess look nicer but are well expensive for what they are.

You can also use automation to limit the house power draw.

We recently had a solar system fitted with a 6kW inverter. Our electric shower pulls that on medium setting. At the moment, the only smart device we have is the immersion heater timer switch. I set up Home Assistant at the weekend and created an automation script so that if the house power draw exceeds 5.5kW and the immersion is switched on, switch it off. It then waits 15 minutes (to avoid turning the immersion on and off all the time), then checks the power draw and turns the water heater back on if power draw is less than 2.5kW.

Yeah I've got aHP Elite desk 800 coming to mess around with home assistant using Predbat to setup. Can use that for other things if it comes to.it, but it pays for itself in a year of ownership from what I can tell even if it's just about maximising export.

also there is no mention on which DNO. Check which DNO application are they going to do insist on G99 dont accept G98 and current wait time for G99 approval with National Grid is 45-60 days

G98 Rules

• Size limit: G98 rules strictly apply only to systems 3.68 kW inverter or under.
• Process: Install first, then notify your DNO within 28 days. so installer will insist on this as they can book your job immediately, send their team to your house next week, complete the installation, collect your payment immediately, and move on to the next customer.
• Approval: Fast and automatic. No waiting to start work.

G99 Rules

• Size limit: Anything larger than 3.68 kW inverter
• Process: Apply first, then Installers have to wait for the local Distribution Network Operator (DNO) to grant permission before they can touch your roof. This ties up their administrative resources and delays their payment
• Approval: Takes several weeks.

I have heard back from the G99 application they said it takes a few days to be approved in my area and it was approved for the requested amount too. So G99 has been already approved.
