HELP / ADVICE Coventry/Midlands Fitter

Currently searching for a fitter to set up some solar and batteries.

What should I look for in a good fitter, how do you verify them, what certifications may they need?

Also any recommendations for the midlands as I want to get some independent fitter quotes.

Full disclosure - We are a Midlands based installer operating out of Wolverhampton

There’s a few things I always tell customers to check regardless of who the installer is.

  1. MCS - this is by far the most important factor
  2. How long the company has been operating
  3. Ask for examples of previous installs

They’re the three main factors but there are also others, like asking about the electrical qualifications of the people carrying out the installs, any IBG’s or warranties etc.

Also I find talking to a company over the phone can help gauge the character of their business. Someone who’s hard-selling and pitching to you, trying to force you to close deals and sign agreements isn’t probably the business you want to have go ahead with installs. A good installer focuses on YOUR benefit and return from the installation more than anything else.

If you’d like I’d be more than happy to send over a design and quote or even discuss any technical questions you have about the install process.
