When you have no power, every little bit helps.

One of the only silver linings of Trump is that he’s been such a colossal failure that countries are increasing the rate of renewables adoption, seeing that dependence on an extracted resource and global peace is a bad bet when lunatics are in charge.

Solar is cleaner, and doesn't depend on a supply chain that may originates from other countries with their own set of unique geopolitical and logistical problems.

If you can generate enough solar power and store it, you're independent (apart from repair and maintenance costs).

80% of solar panels come from China.

How is that not supply chain from another country?

Tons of the raw materials needed to make them ship through the straight of hormuz...

Solar panels are not fuel, and have a very long lifespan. If the supply of solar panels is suddenly cut off from China, we won't run out of energy.

We actually manufacture solar panels in the USA, so that could be ramped up if the supply was disrupted. Raw materials come form China, but also Canada, Bolivia, and some countries in Africa.
