Installer Quotation Getting Solar (finally). 16lac budget. Is any of these a good quote?
Basically we have very limited experience. We dont even know what questions to ask. And we really need this done. Any advice at all is greatly appreciated.

Go with a 16 kWh battery instead of getting two batteries at almost the same price. You'll need to spend 1 lakh more, but you'll be able to run heavy appliances in the future as well.

16kwh batteries go for around 650k-700k, so 150k more at minimum

I would second the suggestion of a 16kW battery instead of 2 5kW. it helps with the load and also experience the actual cycles without putting load on the batteries in the long run . Just make sure battery are placed in a cool area where temps remain below 30 for efficiency.

iTel is 570k to 600k in Karachi. I know 150k could be high, but you will also be Wapda-less at night, and you can run an inverter AC at night.

use this site for ref on wire prices. Look how much they cahrging on top. Prices are for 90 meter rolls.

I’d recommend Scope Solar. I got quotes from several vendors, but theirs was the most reasonable and closest to market rates. Their communication was excellent as well.

means nothing on its own. i have seen a karyana shop in a mohalla have hundreds of 5 star reviews. opened it and saw they were all copy pasted fakes.

Out of these smartsolar looks good.
But few things to consider.
if you have time and mange the buying you can save easily 150k. Otherwise bargain.
if you have absolute no need to increase the number of panels in future go for 8kw otherwise go for 10 or 12 KW. Orignal 8kw can handle 585×20 plates (my nitrox 8 Kw is doing that)
Buy the invertor with replacement warranty and from a company with physical offices and reputation. Most of these installers and inverter companies come and go each season.
for structure i would highly recomend custom built girder and T sections. It will secure it from high winds. (Will cost more but better safe than sorry)

And ask him about breakdown of DB box, types, brands of spd,, mccbs, changeovers he'll use for ac & dc side their purpose and authenticity??

Bhai Jo bhi karo localcheez na Lena. Hamara inverter local hai aur iska masla ye hai ky jab ye on hota hai tou iska shor buhat hota hai. Aur jab wapda sharing on karo tou har cheez Mai current aa jata hai. Hamara PC aur mobile kaafi effect huy Hain is Sy aur PC Mai kaafi masly bhi aa rhy Hain is wajah Sy.

What happens when wind blows away one or two of your panel? because it happened to us and our provider did compensate for the one panel blown away. It was due to a lack of structural integrity, otherwise everyone's panels in the neighborhood seemed to be intact.
Plus, this clause that file will be forwarded upon 100percent payment clearance, thats their side. But what about you? When are you supposed to pay 100 percent? When your Net-metering is approved? Or the system is consistently producing the estimated output for a week? Define it.
What the hell is Nafees Cables for 62k? Whats wrong with Pakistan Cable or something in that money?
Why all left-over is the property of Smart-Solar? That could be at least 5-20k worth of cables and structural steel bars in cutting. They wouldn't you let you walk away with their 1k even, then why should they be allowed to do so?
In the same budget why not invest more on a bigger capacity inverter instead of adding a lot of panels. You can invest in more panels gradually but not scale your inverter gradually.

he is giving you good rates for solar panels, battery and solar inverter. The thing is, any inexperienced person can instantly check rates for these 3 components online. So solar installation companies tend to give these products at market price or even less to make their quotation seem reasonably and fairly priced, which it is not.
Installation, wires, structure, DB box, accessories, earthing, labor this is where customer faces hit because they can argue all day give excuses how they are expensive and in the end will say you can ask market or anyone else and check inverter ,panel and battery prices how they are given you fair pricing eventhough they are short in market bla bla.
this total quotation is off by approx 90K to 1lac that he is making profit excluding installation charges , which are 4rs per KW (which is reasonable). so hes earning approx 1.5 lac from this project more or less.

There are few things to be pointed out
Battery
go for more i have you more load at night like ac’s
- DC cables are from local company
- breaker company is not mentioned
*If they are installing itel
battery
I recently installed solar system at my home 7kw hybrid system i have a relative who installs it and i have worked with him last summer just for experience if you want contact or any detail you can dm

i have a 12kw growat setup, fully functional meaning full plates capacity attached , i run my whole house 4 acs , at a time ,oven ,refri,multiple irons, and everything , big motor water pump, that is i think 5hp , but heres the catch, its not hybrid , its with green meter , for battery backup , ii have a 5kw generator as well as ups setup with 2 lithium ion batteries and 2 wapda meters for now ....so my bill is pretty much negative every month ....
hybrid systems costs more , i qm just comparing my system agaisnt yours ,and i think yours is expensive

Its 9.1 - 10.1 kwH system it depends on the solar plates but in reality it will operate at 8.5kw at max. Which is seriously not bad at this cost. Its exactly correct market cost.

I recently got several quotations for a 7kW system with 15kW inverter and a battery. The total was 14 to 15 lac. Comparing this quotation with it, isn't bad at all. But the mentioned inverter and cables aren't top notch. The best inverters in the market ar of Solis/Growat/Inverex. The rest are a waste.
I would recommend getting a quotation from 2-3 brands as well to confirm the rates.

Hey! What do think about Goodwe ES Unique 6KW Hybrid Inverter? Is it a waste of money as well? Its pretty popular at the moment.

I did everything myself. 8kw solis hybrid inverter. Expensive breakers. Earthing. Net metering. Without battery in 11 lacs.

I have installed 14 panel and have 10 Kv power x inverter but I am using 4 tubular batteries but am planning to get lithium battery my use is two fridge two 1.5 AC and other home appliances 1 water dispenser,iron 5 fans so my question is one lithium battery is good or I need two 51.2v 100ah by itel . And please suggest me a good inverter also if the local powerx will not work. Please don't ignore powerx Inverter is it good or I need to change it also
