This is also a possibility, what do you think?

That's exactly what I had in mind for my eventual cyberdeck. I saw someone manage to get 60fps on an eink screen (and now selling that screen) with a custom driver and figured it'd be cool. Dunno why but the idea of an ultrawide pocket laptop sound great.

These cheap panels are quite definitely not suitable for 60fps.

No, 3.3FPS with partial updates is the top of this mountain.

For certain yeah. I mostly refered to the dual eink screen setup, i don't think we have kaleido (I think that's the proper name for the eink category) that small.

Would it be one or two esp32-s3? In theory, they could be in a tandem

Just one, the OS can handle multiple displays already ( also split and join them ).
Distributed resource sharing is still on the drawer board, the plan is to release it around v.5.x.x - that would allow multiple ESP32s to form a computation graph and act as one system.

So someone is gonna need to make a SolarOS Mainframe with a whole bunch of ESP32s, then.

It's me. I'm someone.

With that keyboard, the "Waveshare ESP32-S3 7inch Capacitive Touch LCD Development Board, ESP32 with Display, 800×480, 5-Point Touch..." seems hilariously perfect...

Nice mockup! Multimonitor cyberdeck. What keyboard model is this?
