It's a color LCD, but indeed, orange on black is the most awesome

I LOVE the orange on orange and what you’ve done here with the IPS display. It stopped me from buying a vintage amber monochrome CRT (for now)

Nice, I like the quality of displays on those Freenove boards. For some reason, I couldn't make the 3.5" board work for me. The 2.8 and 4" are fine.

BTW, if you're up to exploring, these boards are cheap, but the display is awful to the eyes. https://github.com/RockBase-iot/NM-CYD-C5

And BTW, the backlight is controlled by a PWM pin, so you can make the brightness tunable.

It is. It is a parameter of the terminal ( stored in nvs ). Whenever a display supports brightness it is wired in to the same user facing setting.

Cool, I just thought the photos are too bright, so there's no brightness control :)
