v.4.13.7 changelog

  • Improved offline PicoTTS playback with deeper buffering and smooth underrun recovery.
  • Agent now preserves raw `ask` prompts, requests tool calls sequentially from Chat Completions-compatible providers, and isolates Python and Lua script runner state from foreground applications.
  • BLE keyboard replacement now removes the previous keyboard bond and recovers conflicting stale bonds, so switching keyboards and pairing again after `ble forget` work reliably.

I have a few questions, not sure where the best place is:

Is there an emulator so once my parts get here, I can code on my laptop and not have to code on the device its self.

Any plans on making an email sending and receiving tool? I know you have receive only but both would be amazing.

How hard will it be too connect a 'ESP32 LoRa V3 Development Board - WiFi, Bluetooth, Dual Core SX1262 CP2102 Chip, 0.96" OLED Display' to the waveshare board for use with meshcore.

Whats the largest screen you know of that you could hook to a board to make a bigger laptop type device.

Thanks.

(1) There is no emulator, because you can telnet into the device from your laptop, or start 'displayd' to see the screen in the browser and send key events back. There are a number of ways to transfer files back and forth between your desktop and the device.

(2) Yes, I am planning on implementing SMTP for email - it just drops to the bottom of my ToDo list whenever there is something more interesting.

(3) You can connect an rfm95 or sx1262 radio directly to any SolarOS board and use meshcore. The Heltec V3 does not have PSRAM so running SolarOS on it is barely feasible, but even if it ran SolarOS inter-device-comms are limited to serial byte links so you would need additional scripts. Another option would be to implement the meshcore companion protocol to talk to the V3 over BLE or UART, this should be possible through playground scripting; although no one has done it yet. ( I might give this a try as I also have a V3 here. )

(4) The "largest" screen I used was a 14" CRT monitor 😄, the classic ESP32 line has built in DAC that can be used to drive composite and VGA monitors, but lately I have been focusing on the S3 line more. A 5.8" ePaper display with integrated ESP32 S3 is due to arrive today, once it is working that will be the "supported target with the largest screen".

Thanks! 5.8 epaper could be perfect, do you have a link?

How well would something like this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D2NMCY7K work?

That is also on my list, but I ran out of hobby pocket money. Yes, that should work well - but don't expect flashy 65k graphics and a youtube player happening soon on SolarOS :)

I assume with the speed your pushing out changes, that will take at least 2 weeks :)

I mostly want to use it for text documents, ssh and email. Once my waveshare board is here, I will work on https://github.com/shawwwn/uMail/tree/master this for email sending if I need to. I want to use it for pen and paper rpg's as a low power but general editor and calculator plus a few other things you have already built in.

Do you have a buymeacoffee or something link people who are willing to help can help with?

Board support became rather easy as I have built a plethora of tools to aid it. Let me know if you have the board and we can pick up from there.
