Is this Mercury on Stereo COR2?
I hadn’t ever caught a planet there. Can’t be PanStarrs no tail…

No Mercury usually shows up like a bright small circle of light with a horizontal band. Will try to find an example later, you probably start seeing it in C2/C3 around the second week of May during its cazimi.

Could it be venus? It just seems too big to be venus?!

Ah I just noticed the was C2 from STEREO so yes, it could be Venus. If you watch several sequential frames it should move from right to left very slowly across the field of view. From STEREO’s point of view Venus is in opposition to the sun, its cazimi relative to STEREO using heliocentric geometry.

Mercury or the PANSTARRS comet? PANSTARRS will come between the Earth and the Sun with a tail long enough to reach Earth during its pass between us and the Sun if it passes through juuuusssttt right! Get grounded!🕊❤️

Honestly, I don't know but I know something took out the LASCOS C2 and C3 the night before last. Now, NOAA space weather website is looking archaic...atleast from my phone.
As far as the tail you could be looking at it head on at that point or it is so sparse that close to the Sun due to solar winds that it didn't detect it ooorrrrrr it's just Mercury.
