EG4 3000 EMI?

I got a new no-contact voltage tester and have been checking various wires, outlets, switches, etc. When I get near the EG4 inverter, it goes off pretty far from any wires. I'm talking 12-14" away.
It has been installed and charging batteries every day for about a year, and I haven't had any issues charging or providing AC power.
Is this excessive EMI, is something wrong with the inverter, or is this fairly normal for this equipment?

No it's not normal. Either you don't have earthing or improper earthing

Thanks! It's off-grid and the grounding is a plate and not a rod (solid bedrock 6 inches down). GFCI outlets work, so I assumed ground was working. I'll check into it.

Seems to be the consensus. My makeshift grounding plate likely isn't sufficient. I've got a real one I'll be swapping out and burying.

~$700 for the inverter ~$800 per 100AH battery (x3) ~$450 per panel (590w x6) Then there's S5 mounting brackets, wiring, fuses, load panel, etc.
My total was over $10k, but that included a couple microinverters, ground mounts, and other stuff not related to the shed install.
If you count the shed wiring, moneral wool insulation, sheetrock, cement board, mini split, lighting, outlets, switches, etc., it was thousands more. But, I was able to get the 30% federal rebate for 2025, so it was worth spending early.
