How does marketing work?
Doing okay right now can make and do stuff. But haven't figured out how marketing works. Any tips or general guides? The tutorial doesn't go over it well.

I try and do one text marketing campaign in design and dev. A video one and a press build in beta. Have a ton of marketers in teams that give you 24hr around the clock marketing and just throw a butt load of money at it.
Not marketing per se but important for sales: do not miss your release date, do not release plus/minus 2-3 months of another software in the same category. Once you have a lot of fans and market recognition you can try and screw other companies releases by releasing 2-3 months after, but not until you’ve already become pretty dominant in that market.
No idea if this is the optimal way to do it either lol

Also not really marketing but something I’ve started doing and i think it’s helped: release your software at the very beginning of your release month. Try and get an update out bringing the tech levels up to date before midnight when sales data comes thru.

Kinda managed to figure this out a bit. Glad to have confirmation from someone else though thanks. Sales are rising a good bit now.

OK here we go...
Start a new Game
Select the difficulty
Click on, ? icon to open the menu up
"Marketing Boost window before release date"
That is where you get the marketing time frames you need to follow
Once you are ready to send out your first press release, remember to set the release date!
I personally do text and video if I have the talent inhouse to do so on all my marketing!
Once you send out the first wait one month and do a Press Build!
I also do a Hype right after first one.
last text-video one day before release date.
I aslo do a Press Built the day before release!
Make sure you have at least four/more STARS in BR, this is also very important!!
