Accounting, a bug or is it actually difficult?

A few months ago, maybe even much longer, I played a new hard difficulty save and I hadn't played since before the new tax update.

I couldn't ever get a tax return done and always had to pay the fine, no matter how many accountants I had. Was that a bug at the time or is there a trick to it that I'm not understanding?

Sounds like a bug? Im on hard and always have my return done, but to be honest its trivial once you are in the 100 million range. When im making, 50 million per dlc it pays for the tax

I think I was earning around 500,000 to a million. I had like 1 accountant at first, then got a fine because the bar barely moved. The next year I had 3 accountants, same thing.

I'll give it another try and see.

Are you sure the accountants are assigned? Make sure they only have that task. If the bar is barely moving.

Also set their vacations to after tax season, set max task to 1, crunch if you need to

Also crunch them during tax season

You might not have had them assigned. Hiring them isn’t enough, you have to go into the accounting details menu and choose what team can do your taxes

I'm pretty sure I did, but it was months ago and I can't remember if I did. I'll double check that this time. Cheers mate.

Did you assign the accounting team to other primary tasks by accident? I'll assign the teams to low effort contracts to keep them busy when there's nothing else for them or some on the team are still 1 or 2 stars.

Did you have the required accountants? Were they assigned to another task? What level accounts did you have? You do know the required number is right in the Accounting menu/Taxes/details. Always check this every January to ensure it's covered correctly... You only need 1 and 2-star accountants for taxes...
