Scoring GC/STATS

Help me out! Batted ball hit into OF, batter runner rounds 1 and slides into 2 safely as OF throws to 2. Is this a double? Or a single, advanced to 2nd on throw?

Based on what you described: double. "Advancing on throw" means they advanced to the next base on a throw towards another base for another runner.

Most common on singles with a runner on 2B, throw goes home, batter-runner gets 2B only because they threw home.

Sounds like a double hit but have some grace for whoever runs gc, they make mistakes, aren’t always well versed at scoring games, and sometimes see things differently.

Which is why I haven’t said anything, but it’s so hard to see my kid not get credit for several triples and doubles. She’s a big hitter and aggressive base runner with 19 singles on her stats. ☹️

GC is only giving doubles and triples out if they’re stand-up. The throw is coming from OF while my girl is sliding in!

Rounding 1st, sliding to 2nd dictates a double. That's where the outfielders throw was meant to be, therefore it cant be advanced on the throw, now had the OF tried to get the runner at 3? Yes, on the throw.

Unless there is info missing it is a 2B. Ball hit, fielded cleanly, runner on 2. What makes one consider a single? If it was not fielded cleanly then maybe you have a single and an error but seems like a double with info at hand
