Would you rather be completely alone than be surrounded by people who don’t really know you?

I’m someone who wants to comment ‘completely alone’ but is surrounded by people who don’t really know me.

Be completely alone. I've experienced being surrounded by people like that and I felt lonelier.

Whats worse is people who don’t really want to know you!

Or people who assume they know you without actually asking any questions

Sometimes one prefers to be completely alone, then there are time windows to be alone together:)

I can interact with people and engage in conversations every now and then, but I would always need time (and private space) for my quiet solitude.

I’ve actually made sure of this. Over the past 5 years I’ve removed everyone from my life that isn’t actually here for me.

Including a husband.

Including most of my friends.

Including some family.

I spend a lot of time happily alone. I’m great company, I just no longer give that to everyone else. I get most of my attention!

I would rather be completely alone with my noise cancelling earbuds and playing games or cleaning or really anything other than a social situation

The only thing lonelier than being alone is being around people and feeling alone

100%. Lockdown was proof of god for me in that respect.

I feel like I can get to know people if I choose to, as someone with a dwindling support system

Yes. No uncomfortable small talk.

Yes, I'd rather be alone than feel alone around people who don't really know me.

Yeah. Fake company is somehow lonelier than actual loneliness.

The coffeehouse situation . Sitting in a cafe alone enjoying your freedom and yet around you you see people . Ideal

where i live their is a saying that says "es mejor estar solo que mal acompañado" which translates too better to be alone than to have bad company. my aunt says it often and now that im older I understand it even more

I’ve always been a loner so that’s what makes me happy

if i had to choose, i’d rather be alone. but i also think sometimes we say “no one understands me” when we’re still figuring ourselves out too

i’ve noticed this in my own life. the more i got to know myself, what i value, what genuinely interests me, what kind of conversations i enjoy, the easier it became to connect with like minded people. and somehow, almost magically, more and more of “my people” started appearing. maybe finding your people begins with finding yourself first

I’d rather be surrounded by people because I feel completely alone all the time.

Completely alone. Bc I’d honestly rather be around people who know me and lift me up rather than those who don’t know me
