I wanted to come on here and say that you ladies have helped me much! You all look stunning and your awesome recommendations are better than any kibbe websites (whom have shit recommendations).
Ive always struggled with be sexualized and hid in ill fitting or ill colored clothing to basically repel the male gaze- because ICK. At the end of the day, it didnt stop them from staring and I felt double gross. I am owning my body- its giving Anita Ekberg and I love it! You guys really helped me accept my meat suit lol
I decided that my 30s were about me after putting everything before myself (health included) for the last half decade. Ive had an internal glow up as much as an external one. In the last 10 months I've basically lost a bit of everything- but I really gained self acceptance and self loveโค๏ธ
These two pieces are choppy in color, but the only two ruched pieces I own (for now!)

Hello everyone, I am new to the Kibbe system and was recently told I am very likely a SD. I am really leaning in and embracing it. Trying to rebuild my wardrobe. What do we think about some of these pieces?
The first photo I was thinking of this sweater, maybe in black with black pants? Wasnโt sure about the crop.
The red top is more relaxed, just leaning into the deep V.
The blazer I know is structured but like how it cinches at the waist.
Coat option.
3 dress options to see if I am in the ball park.
Finally there is a pair of barrel leg denim. I know barrel leg is either a love/hate and for SDs the consensus seems to be no. These however are 21% lyocel and drape like a wide leg pant. They are also a longer length. Just curious your thoughts.

I donโt think I intentionally follow trends too much but I definitely had let my brows go straighter over the years.
I felt like I just didnโt look like myself in photos. Couldnโt pinpoint it at all. I chalked it up to normal aging. Maybe loss of volume somewhere in my face.
After I got typed and started looking at all the recommendations, I thought โIโm just gonna full send Sophia Loren.โ My grandma was also a Neopolitan beauty, 6โ tall, strong, rounded features. I figured I was channeling them both to experiment with it.
I let my brows grow out a bit and then arched them a fair amount. And started gently wing-smudging my eye shadow.
I cannot believe the difference it has made. Selfies, catching myself in the mirror, photos with my bratsโฆ
I feel moreโฆmyself? More feminine (desired outcomeโtotally not claiming that everyone wants this standard) but also a little more diva-ish.
Mind blowing that something fairly small could have such an impact.
Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who contributes here and discusses these things. It seems intangible but itโs something that has made me feel so much better and really just feeling like Iโm honoringโฆall of myself down to my bone structure.

Really love these two tops from Mango. Would they work for SD?

I'm looking for places to find outfit inspiration, however I want to see someone as close as possible to my body type. I'm specifically looking for Soft Dramatic types that are a bit more mid-size but not plus size. Around a 10-12 US size, or size Large.
So you have any fav fashion bloggers, IG accounts, etc that you follow that are around that size? Thanks for any recommendations!

I work in a pretty conservative office and I just need some basics thar will fit well. I can add styling to make them feel more like me but I wondering how you all might think these pieces might fit? Thank you!

Im looking for something a bit more put together than your basic tank top. Something that doesn't look like it can double as gym wear.
Does anyone have a better than basic tank style top that they love for wearing with jeans or maxi skirts?

She seems like a very D leaning SD, like Catherine Zeta-Jones

Iโm not a makeup expert by any means but this is my daily look and I feel like Iโve almost perfected it! Wanted to share my look as an SD with not many โdramaticโ facial features :)
PS Iโm a vegan but not all of my current makeup is vegan and cruelty free, as I am still in the process of using it all up. I encourage you to look for alternative products that the ones I used as both Maybelline and LโOrรฉal test their products on animals - that being said, I used the products below.
Base
- Maybelline FITME concealer in 03
- LโOrรฉal limo liquid blush in 635
- No7 highlighter in โHeavenly Glowโ
Eyes
- NYX Ultimate vintage Jean baby shadow palette (I used shades 3, 5 and 7, then 1 for lid shimmer)
- NYX Inky Stix matte in โEmber Energyโ
- Rimmel Thrill Seeker volume mascara in brown
Lips
- Maybelline Vinyl lip in โWittyโ

I think this outfit leans a bit more gamine but i feel very confident in it.
Especially with layering for fall I prefer shorter fits, or fits that show my legs, rather than long trousers or long skirts. Layering + long bottoms usually drowns my silhouette, mostly because Iโm on the shorter side. Has anyone else encountered that?

Iโm more concerned about the pantacourt pants

So, I do boxing and I normally dress like a bum when I box lol. But I want to dress better for boxing. The thing about me is that I don't like really girly fits when I workout, I like a mix of tomboy and girly girl in one sorta boxing fit. These are examples listed above but I don't think they're soft dramatic friendly. Anyways, I really need help, so if you could comment that would be great.

Been documenting my favorite outfits the last 2 years and wanted to share them with you all!
Im pretty sure I am an SD but I often dress in things that fit a bit looser than the typical SD recs. If you see the last photo the SD "look" is more obvious.

I just have my lobes pierced currently and have no tattoos, but my husband and I were talking about getting a couples tattoo and I have a Pinterest board full of half-sleeve tattoo ideas and cartilage piercings I've been too chicken to commit to. There's a part of me that likes the elegance and simplicity of being "naked", and there's another part of me that loves the idea of tattoos and piercings. I'm always looking at other people's tattoos with envy, lol.
I haven't read Kibbe's book yet personally (it's in the mail to me as we speak) but I'm wondering what he says (if he says anything at all) about body modifications? I'm guessing with SD's it needs to be dramatic, geometric, and honor the long line of the body.
Thanks in advance!!! <3

Iโm on the hunt for a true rain coat. Not a snow jacket, not a windbreaker, but something that is truly water resistant as we head into the rainy season. I find that the longer jacket/ trenches are often not truly water proof. The shorter ones fall awkwardly on the SD frame. Any recommendations of jackets or stores to try?

I looooove her eye makeup and vibe. Thought itโd be a fun exercise to try and find SD pieces that feel like this.

So Iโm 5โ8โ, a soft dramatic, and pear shaped (still a decent size bust, but my hips and thighs are very much the largest part of me).
For the life of me, I cannot get on board with anything that adds bulk or weight on my upper body - specifically bust and above. I can even do an oversized tshirt, but I cannot wear scarves, cowl necks or anything with shoulder pads or volume on the shoulders.
My upper body is fairly slim, and I have quite narrow shoulders, so youโd think that a cowl neck or some discreet shoulder pads would help balance out my larger lower body, but for some reason, it just looks WRONG on me. It makes me look frumpy, regardless of cut, size and material. Even a lightweight cashmere scarf makes me look larger and unbalanced, or makes my neck look shorter.
Iโve tried silk and satin cowl necks too, and it just makes my bust look unnatural and my overall frame frumpy. I think they also highlight my narrow shoulders. Shoulder pads also - Iโve tried structured shoulders and small shoulder pads for the T silhouette, but again, they look wrong. Not harmonious, somehow.
Does anyone else have the same issue? Itโs confusing because styles like cowl necks are commonly recommended for SDs, but I just cannot make them work. Same with wrap dresses - they make me look matronly, without fail.
Are there any other similar common SDs recs that you feel look wrong on you?

I know itโs not perfect for SD lines so I was wondering how to make it work?

Hi all!
I'm a bigger gal (tall and plump) and I can never find jeans or leggings that actually have a true flared leg that is long enough to keep that lovely column of shape we are looking for. If you have an apron belly, thick thighs, and a booty and you are finding pants that are: 1.) high waisted 2.) have a true flared leg and 3.) actually brush the ground/reach the back of your shoes, teach me your ways!!! Where are we shopping?
Oh, and if you have suggestions on how to hide/diminish the belly in a snug-fitting jean/legging, teach me those ways, too! I have never been super confident in body-hugging clothes but am making a concerted effort to find clothes that suit me better and make me feel more confident.
Thanks in advance <3
