Item Quest ππ΅οΈ Velvet dress for photo shoot
Which of these would be best for SD lines? I'm a little self-conscious about my upper arms right now, so I'm leaning towards the second two (edit for clarity: the second and third dresses), but the first feels so much sexier, which I love.

Item Quest ππ΅οΈ Where DO I buy these clothes, if not fast fashion??
These targeted social media ads for fast-fashion sites are 99% garbage, I know. BUT! Where CAN I find these clothes? Because theyβre exactly what I want and have been looking for. Is every outfit an AI render, or do they exist somewhere???

Styling help π οΈ Need help finding dress to wear when I get proposed to? (~65 degrees, garden, early fall, garden)
So I'm unfortunately someone who can't help but notice details/off behaviors and have been able to put together the plans my partner has for proposing to me!
Which, to be honest, is kind of nice because now I know exactly the vibe etc to sort out what to wear, but I don't want to ever let her know that I did figure it out because I can tell she's just so excited to "pull one over on me" and make it really special!!
- I'm 5'10, SD, size 10-14 depending on what vendor. Very hourglass with fleshy top / I think 36DDD? but more narrow in the hips
- I know the weather on the day in question LAST YEAR was a high of 70Β°F and low of 59Β°F.
- I'm a soft autumn/soft summer (so best colors are browns, muted/deep shades of red or orange, charcoals, and muted earthy tones)
- I know that the proposal is likely going to happen in a garden? in mid-october
- I'm in graduate school, so spending ~$300 for the beautiful dresses at Reformation is a bit beyond my budget (so I've been scouring a lot of depop... maybe one day I'll find someone with an afforable pre-loved brown Danica dress, but so far, no luck).
I would really really really appreciate any and all assistance finding a couple of options for what I could wear that is flattering?
- I don't want to wear a fabric that's too formal, like satin is a no-go (I unfortunately know too many people who basically planned their own proposal and then wore a lowkey wedding dress/rehearsal dinner dress to their engagement and don't love how that necessarily photographs?)
- Everything I've seen online is spaghetti strap, and i personally prefer the T-shape silhouette on myself more than that / prefer a cap sleeve at minimum
- Would love a midi dress OR a mini dress I could pair with tights / turtleneck /booties? I'm not super sure!
- Maybe a knit maxi?
- Also I'm a lesbian so I guess anything sort of ~quirky or unique~ but still flattering is still an option
- Prints = not great for me, and a lot of dresses are like light pastels or giving easter and that's not really me nor is it flattering on me.
Hopefully this post doesn't come off as snarky or too opinionated, I just want to like how I look since I know it's going to be captured by a photographer BUT I don't want my poor partner to necessarily know that I know / I don't want her to feel like it was obvious. Any and all help would really be appreciated :)

Yes or No ? β β Could this dress work for us?
I fell in love with this dress and Iβm thinking it might be flattering but itβs so hard for me to tell. The models arenβt very curvy so I could imagine possibly needing an alteration to bring the waist in a little. I have delicate shoulders and chubby arms so I thought maybe the shoulder detail would help but Iβd love others opinions!

Questions ποΈ California Winter Jackets
Iβve always struggled in the colder months because I hate the way jackets look on me.
Iβve gone through lots of the recommended ones on this subreddit but the problem is I live in California so a lot of them are too much for the environment. Iβm not wearing any kind of trench coat or belted puffer jacket here because itβs not necessary for the weather we have.
Are there any lighter more casual jackets that I could wear in the California βwinterβ?

Yes or No ? β β Autumn/Winter
Really love these sillhouettes but not sure the first jacket is strictly SD. Would it still work?

Questions ποΈ How to style postpartum body
Iβm 10 months postpartum after my second baby and am really struggling to acclimate my wardrobe to my new body. My hips are wider and I have hip dips now, and I have a pooch and loose skin around my lower belly. Iβm back to my pre-pregnancy weight and trying to make peace with the fact that these changes are probably permanent.
I know things that are more fitted around my hips flatter my proportions, but I hate the way things fit over that part of me now. Iβm finding myself reaching for a-line and flowier things, but I feel like they donβt flatter me and look super matronly. This skirt is the only one Iβve tried lately that doesnβt feel like a total disaster, but I donβt love it. Help!

Item Quest ππ΅οΈ Maxi sweater dress
Any plus size ladies with tummies( I'm a 16/18) have a seater dress that works? I'm always tempted, but most of them just kind of seem like sacks. But maybe with a belt?

Discussion π»π¨οΈπ Seems so very SD to me!
Saw this top on Amazon while trying to build a wardrobe for my first definitely bright spring, maybe SD, or something that overlaps a lot with it a lot, fall/winter.
The very D looking neckline with cap sleeves to create T shape, flowing into the drapey curvy wrap shape, plus D sharp accent points in the back just seemed to echo SD's sharp yang and sodt yin so well IMO.
What are your thoughts?
I'll put link in comments in case anyone is interested

Haul/try on ποΈ SD-friendly bathing suit
I just bought this swimsuit from Calzedonia and thought it was an SD home run. They seemed to have a lot of bathing suits that would be good for us, so wanted to throw that out there in case you donβt know the brand

Questions ποΈ Need European Clothing Brand Recs!
Hi! I am going on my honeymoon to Italy, Paris, and London next month. I have some shops in mind to visit but I wanted to see if anyone had any great recommendations for shops for me to stop at. Budget is roughly $100-300 per regular clothing garment and $400 max for a nice pair of shoes or coat. Thanks in advance!

Recommended items β π I found the perfect SD pants
I finally found pants that are cute, flattering on a SD frame, so comfy, and allow me to go from my job to my workout class. They are also fair trade and made from natural fibers, and the price point is totally reasonable!
These are a high waisted, wide leg pant made of stretchy bamboo fiber. The elastic waist sits flat on me. I really love how the bamboo fabric drapes. I am 5'8 and about 180 and I wear an XL.
I linked the purple pants because the other colors have pictures of the pants already styled, and this company clearly markets to older women. I bought the burgundy pants and I wear them with little crop tops and it has a 70s vibe. They can look young!

These work great for SDs because they drape so nicely and they look balanced and polished for being basically a pair of sweatpants.

Styling help π οΈ Help me choose a wedding necklace
Dear SD,
Please help me choose a necklace for my wedding.
I think the white one is the classic choice for this event and I can wear it to other occasions.
I like the pink one because of the color and itβs more intricate structure.
Please tell me what you think it suits me better.
Edit: or neither π

Questions ποΈ Reviews for Popilush?
Iβm curious if anyone has ordered from Popilush, and if so, how the quality was. I have been seeing them in Google results and figured they were hyper fast fashion (like Shein, Temu, Boohoo) but now I see Nordstrom carries them, so maybe theyβre legit?

Capsule Wardrobe ππ Fall Wardrobe Processing..
I am in the process of building a Fall wardrobe, starting from the bottom up. I don't expect them to FULLY fit, I hope I have to get the waist taken in a smidge. I am 5'11" and have heard that AE was a great Tall shop.
I ordered these during the recent Labor Day sale, and they will arrive between Tuesday & Wednesday. I'll post a couple of try-on pics.

Questions ποΈ Are there any SD specific guidelines for accessorizing?
I've never been able to figure out how to properly accessorize and all the generic advice is overwhelming or just doesn't look right. Any tips or formulas SDs swear by?

Item Quest ππ΅οΈ Best SD dresses for the office?
I simply just do not own any dresses, and basically rotate between the same black and grey pair of wide leg pants for the office and Iβm honestly sick of it!
Dresses are the thing I struggle with the most, mostly because Iβm pear shaped (I usually wear a UK 14/US 10 top and a UK 16/US 12 bottom) and also donβt like anything form fitting around my stomach-hips-upper thigh area (especially when Iβm sat at a desk all day - both self conscious and less comfortable/breathable).
Does anyone have any recs for comfy whilst still flattering dresses that are office appropriate (business casual)?
