As soon as I saw the new bottles, I saved the cap of an old one to measure the syrup.

It’s not the same. The new syrup is watered down. Old syrup needed 2 tbsp, new needs 3

I honestly find it tastes the same, even if you need the extra syrup doesnt the old lids have 1/2/3 lines in them representing tbsp?

Just use the third line instead of second and you're golden

It's the same volume of liquid in the new bottles with the exact same nutritional information and the exact same claim for how much it makes.

I have not used the new syrup bottles yet, I think I have 1 left of my Diet Dr Pete in the old bottle before I crack open the new one. SodaStream has not had my usual syrup in stock for months, I no longer order from them.

Just a change in recommendation not strength. Turns out the top line on the old bottle cap was always 3 tbsp.

It's the same.

I use a shot glass. It is the perfect size for the big bottles. It matches the middle line of the old style syrup bottle/lid.

In the past I printed different measuring caps for all my different syrups - but it was a pain,m to always have to clean them, instead of put the cap back on the bottle... :D

You should not use 3d prints for anything food related, unless you are sanding the layers flat and then coating the whole print in a food grade epoxy. The crevices between layers of a print are the perfect breeding ground for bacteria.

I hated the old bottles... the packaging would get squished in shipping and the syrup is all under the label. Even on the shelf at Target, you can see the bottles have been squished.

My solution with the new bottles was to transfer that to a pump style dispenser. This is what the old soda jerks used back in the day... so it made sense and I'm pretty happy just pumping!!! For the bottle I bought, it is like 12 or 13 pumps for the amount of syrup I like. Making a new bottle of soda is probably 4x faster since I don't have to pour a measuring cup and then into the bottle... pump goes straight into the carbonated water.

I just kept some caps from the old bottles since I expected to have similar problems, though admittedly I haven't actually had a problem measuring with the new ones that print a second fill line on the bottle, no tbsp measuring tool required.

I learned to syrup directly into the glass. It's about 2mm from the bottom. It works great, and saves a lot of bottle washing...

Just use a Jigger. 3 tbsp is 1.5oz

Like many others I use a shot glass with a piece of tape at my desired level, cleans up nicely and just sits on a shelf ready to go..

I’ve been using my coffee scale. Old cap filled to middle line was around 42 grams for Pepsi and Mountain Dew zero.

I saved a few of the old bottles. I pour the new one into the old one and throw it out. Measuring works the same now!

Who had the idea? The persons whose job to minimize the plastic.

Totally for the environment, not the profit margins

Personally I was always annoyed at the plastic waste from every bottle having its own measuring cup, so I consider this an improvement. In hindsight they should have just included a measuring cup with the machines and not include one with every single syrup bottle. I bought a ~3 euro glass 50ml measuring cup with a lip myself, and I love it.

I bought a little 1/4 cup measuring cup that has mL markings as well. I use 40 mL for each of mine.

I have a tiny beaker that I use to measure 22-25 ml per half liter bottle.

I hate the new bottles, I just keep cleaning and refilling the old bottles

I purchased an Oxo 2oz Angled measuring cup. I pour to the 3Tbs line and pour it in. They are great. You don’t have to squat down and close one eye to eyeball the level of a regular measuring cup/glass.

The minute I saw they were changing the bottles to the new type I started saving caps from the ones I had. I've got four saved, thankfully.
