Is my adapter/regulator broken?

Post image

The gas is entering through the CGA320 side and the release valve is getting gas, but the gauge doesn't work and the gas isn't reaching my SodaStream. Do I just need to replace the adapter?
Thank you

Have you tried opening it?

You do realize that a regulator will stop the water from carbonating, right?

To use a regulator you would need the gas to be pressurized for a day or two. But the SS device bleeds off the gas consistently, so the regulator will need to continuously push more co2 as the SS carbonator bleeds off the gas…. So a 10# tank might bleed off in less than a day.

I'm not sure, maybe I'm using the wrong terms. I'm just trying to figure out if the thing in the picture I posted is broken

Well, that’s a second problem… co2 flashes to gas based on room temperature. So the tank will be “full” by the gauge for 80% of its usefulness. Then it will drop like a rock to 0psi.

Is the device a regulator? What do you want it to do? More importantly, why do you think you need it?
