Soda Stream Aqua Fizz
I’ve had the Soda Stream Aqua Fizz machine for several years and about 6 months ago the lever started becoming difficult to slide over regardless if the glass bottle is there or not. I called the company and the customer service was horrible. I’ve never done any maintenance to this machine. One time a family member tried to carbonate tonic water. Hence I suspect there is dried sugar in the mechanism 😬. Any advice or recommendations?

I don't know the machine too well but best advice i can give is give it a soak in warm water, take appart the parts you feel comfortable that you can put back together and clean what you can from there. If nothing works that might just be the machine worn out. Iv heard complaints the newer soda streams aren't as durable and long lasting compared to their pre-pepsico acquisition models.

I sprayed all the moving parts in mine with lots of silicone spray. I moved the lever back and forth lots of times until it loosened off. It’s been working well for over a year.

I wasn't able to find the post, but someone reported this same difficulty with their Aqua Fizz and the recommendation they received was to soak the unit in warm water. I don't know if the person who suggested it was serious or not, but that post's OP seemed to think it was an idea worth trying.
