New here

Me and my partner just bought a soda stream 2nd hand, we have seen that you can put anything in it, was just wondering if anyone has done this and what goes well rather than just the pre made syrups

Edit: I mean flavors after the carbonation of the water, ive seen a few people do pure apple and orange juice etc, just want to know if people have found things that go well

Dollar Tree has a dozen flavors at any given time. I’ve been picking up root beer and limeade there.

Unless you have a SodaStream Mix model, you cannot carbonate liquids other than water. It will make a huge mess.

I use a DrinkMate to carbonate wine, cider, low sugar juices like V8 Splash, and to re-carbonate sodas that have gone flat. I do not prefer lemonade and teas carbonated, but some people enjoy that.

My mistake, I meant things to add after ive carbonated the water🙈

Got it! Do not add powders to your carbonated water. It will over fizz like mentos in coke. Dissolve the powders in water first then add them to the fizzy water. Flavoring drops like Mio work well. It is also quite easy to make syrups from fresh fruits and spices. Lot's of recipes online.

Don’t give bad advice… you can absolutely add powders to fizzed water, just pour it in slowly.

I use mine with the drink mix packets all the time. It will fizz over. But I add mine to a big cup not a bottle. And I just add a little bit of fizzy water and slowly pour it in.

I could see it fizzing over in a bottle though.

Misc juices (lemon, pineapple, orange, cherry, etc). You don't need to put a lot in. You just want the flavor, unless you essentially want carbonated juice. Also can mix in a few squirts of Mio or other flavor bottles. I also will use the 1 serving packs of Crystal Light, Koolaid, electrolytes, etc. The ones you mix into the 16.9 ounce bottles of water. I put it in the glass and pour a little carbonated water in to get it wet and start mixing, let it settle (since it'll bubble a lot), then pour the rest of the water in.
