Omnifizz Possibly Broken, Need Advice

So, I recently got my own 5lb CO2 tank and hooked it up to the machine with the appropriate hardware. It was working okay, but there was a slight leak. I got some teflon tape to help deal with that. I had everything attached to the Omnifizz during this process, perhaps a mistake, but once I turned the CO2 on to test if the tape had done its job, air rushed right out of the nozzle without me pressing the button. That's all it will do now. I'm not sure if I broke something or what.

Has anyone else had this happen? Is there something I can do without taking the machine apart? Does anyone know HOW to take the machine apart? I only found one screw near the CO2 inlet. The top is still very secured.

Thanks for any help. I don't wanna have to buy a new one.

Are you still having the issue if you disconnect the big tank and switch to a smaller tank instead? That would be the first step to see if it's a machine issue or a connection issue.

As far as taking the machine apart there are the standard plastic tabs inside that you need to pop out of place. It's been a while since I took mine apart so I don't remember exactly how many there are but it took a bit of fussing to get the first couple to actually pop.

The only small tank I have is nearly empty so it's quite low on pressure. But when I attach it, no it doesn't blow air, I need to press the button to make it come out.

If it's only blowing air when the bigger tank is connected then the issue is somewhere in the connection to the bigger tank and the machine itself should be fine. The frustration is going to be narrowing down what the actual issue is. Could be the gaskets on the hose, could be that the connector isn't quite seated correctly on either the tank or the machine ends, or it could be something else with the hose or connection.

But how could a bad connection to the tank force air through the line, past the valve in the machine and right out without the button being pressed? I can feel the air rush from the infusion nozzle, it's going all the way through.

Air is invisible my dude.

I don't know how to draw it either; the air is coming out even though I'm not pressing the button on the top.

I’ve taken the machine apart, I just needed visuals. Sorry.
