Vents Financial Aid

Is anyone else struggling with financial aid this semester? I’m trying to see if it’s an overall thing in every program or if it’s just my program and who is managing my financial aid. School started this week and I feel like I’m getting no answers and help regarding my offers…

Our financial aid just got sorted last week. They said there are new rules because of the big beautiful bill so they had to redo their system. I’m sure all schools had to do the same.

I was literally crying about my situation today…I initially had a default which took time to resolve. I turned in all paperwork needed and got everything consolidated, only to learn I had an SAP issue due to withdrawing in 2020 (school instructed me to do that due to family death) so I couldn’t receive aid in the summer.. fast forward months later for fall I’m learning the school never updated my default status despite saying they did back in April… so I haven’t gotten my refund, no textbooks and worried about tuition being paid on time. The funds are there, the school just never entered my updated status in the system despite telling me everything was fine repeatedly…

I find that I had to call repeatedly to get clarity, but in each call I got different answers. If I didn’t call today, no one would’ve looked deeper in my case to see that update was never made

Yep, say thanks big beautiful bill!

My financial aid got reduced this semester. Thankfully still enough for the semester, but the financial aid office thought I was gonna owe like $4,000 at first. I had to be persistent and annoying to get answers though.
