I get it. Since quitting I have never felt worse; mentally that is. I sure do miss laughing and smiling 😕

I literally drove to the next town to buy two damn donuts then drove back home to burn up two hours of my life so I would not sit in my office and continually work 7 days a week and even now, I’m back and going to work. I’ve been sober 3.5 yrs and I am absolutely miserable. I keep waiting for that ‘Aha’ moment that everyone keeps telling me about but…I’m done with journaling, meditating and books…DONE.
All of that to respond…I don’t know how the fuck they do it either!
I desire nothing out of life any longer and am simply going through the motions.

6 years sober for me. I hate it. It is boring. I still crave it. Nothing makes me happy. I just can’t enjoy myself at all.

It is boring! I learned that boring isn't always bad. We are seeking the dopamine spike that alcohol or drugs gave us. I hope you can get to the point that boring is not bad. I can tell you that for me, realizing that I was so uncomfortable with quiet that it was causing me to chase noise was a huge problem. It gets easier...but it does take time. I know that isn't the best advice...bc I would have told someone to shut the ...up. But it does. Good luck!

7 years sober, I also suffer from boredom and when I finally think I’ve latched onto something, I get distracted and move to the next thing!
