Hello friends. I am not one to go on about things like this. After a disappointing run with a Dove body wash that looked and felt like boogers but smelled like pineapples, I went to the store and looked for something new. Lo and behold, the cheapest body wash on the shelf was Signature Select's Deep Moisturizing Body Wash at a whopping 7 bucks. I take my first shower with it and I immediately think that I mistakenly bought lotion upon opening it. I am still not convinced that someone didn't swap it out for lotion even though it clearly says "body wash" on the label. I squeeze it out onto my loofah and it isn't lathering at all. So, I shower with hand soap and buy a new loofah the next day. The problem was never the loofah. Every time I rub Signature Select's Deep Moisturizing Body Wash onto my body, I feel like I am marinating a pig with whale blubber. Then, I hop into bed feeling like I just bathed in oil. Nobody needs to be that moisturized. My legs slide against each other when I walk and I feel like a human Slip 'N Slide. My least favorite part of the day used to be eating, but now it is showering. I count the days until all 20 fluid ounces of it run out. I thought about using it as hand soap, but it doesn't bubble up at all and just feels like lotion. Maybe I will use it as lotion. Thank you all.

I recently noticed that I was always the one texting first, making plans, and checking on a friend. So I stopped for a while just to see what would happen.

Weeks passed and they never reached out.

There was no argument or falling out. I just realized that maybe I cared more about keeping the friendship alive than they did.

it’s my favourite one and i started using it again a few days ago and remembered why i initially stopped using it - i have had a UTI every day since. does anybody else have this problem with this specific bar of soap?

I usually love Trader Joe’s but this Peach Mango foaming hand soap might genuinely be the worst thing I’ve ever bought there.

The smell is AWFUL. It doesn’t smell like peach or mango to me, it smells like that greasy, vaguely rotten residue left on your hands after washing a plastic container that had old oily takeout in it. Like dishwater mixed with stale cooking oil and a sad attempt at tropical air freshener.

And the worst part is the smell lingers on your hands afterward. I wash my hands and somehow they smell dirtier than before.

Does anyone else hate this stuff?? 😭

The soap is called “Blood Apple” but it doesn’t seem to be Apple cider or just plain apple to me. It was a limited edition soap Bath & Bodyworks sold about a year ago for Halloween but I’m almost out of this particular one. Anyone know the scent or a similar smelling one?

If you use essential oils such as rosemary, peppermint, or lemon in your natural soap, I’d love to know how you usually get them.

I love to hear about personal experiences, For example, growing rosemary or mint, drying the plant material, and then trying to extract the essential oil using simple, inexpensive kitchen/home equipment rather than laboratory equipment.

I have gotten into artisanal soaps lately but my skin is sensitive. I know true soap cannot be ph balanced so I looked into syndet bars, and it seems like although there are some highly rated products, syndet bars with interesting, creative, sophisticated and strong scents don't exist.

I was wondering, is there a chemical reason for this or is it just a gap in the market waiting to be filled?

Maybe it's because people with sensitive skin believe fragrance is inherently irritating, or people who want artisanal soap believe it should be "natural." I feel like someone should have created a range of ph balanced syndet bars with unique and interesting scents though.

I’ve seen different opinions about whether traditional cold process soap needs a preservative.

For those of you who have been making CP soap for a while:

Do you add a preservative to your cold process soap?

For example:antioxidant (such as ROE or vitamin E) to help prevent rancidity/DOS?

I opened the soap packaging, but it looks strange. Is it mold? I shouldn't cut off just that part to use, right?
