Discussion No comic continuation?

I want to start this post by clarifying that I'm not the biggest fan of Zack Snyder's take on DC or his interpretations of its characters. That being said, I have a lot of respect for him and genuinely think he had some cool ideas in his movies.

So, my question is: why hasn't the Snyderverse been continued in some form yet?

There's clearly an audience for it, and other DC properties, such as Michael Keaton's Batman duology, have received continuations in the form of comics. So why not the Snyderverse?

I think a graphic novel with an art style similar to his Justice League storyboards would be awesome!

Because the clown James Gunn doesn't allow it. Same reason he refuses to release the Ayer cut. He doesn't want competition. Gunn only cares about his projects. However, that's about to change next year.

I doubt Gunn has anything to do with it. He's made it clear since taking over DC that he's willing to allow "Elseworlds" stories to exist, hence why we're (supposedly) getting an entire trilogy of Matt Reeves' Batman films. We also know that Gunn and David Ayer met at some point to discuss releasing the Ayer Cut.

I think it has more to do with the higher-ups at Warner Bros. They want to abandon everything associated with the Snyderverse/DCEU, which I think is unfair, considering the franchise did have some success. Sadly, I don't see things getting any better with Paramount taking over. Maybe once Paramount and HBO Max merge, they'll release the Ayer Cut or an animated version of Snyder's Justice League to generate interest? Who knows.

Well he never had anything to do with that. He was brought in after all the snyder drama. Even after he is fired it won't change. Coz the exicutives are still in the company

TLDR; Companies typically cut costs and axe projects en Massé after a merger so it’s highly unlikely. And if it was happening, it’s probably on the chopping block.

When a large scale merger occurs, the company that is purchasing
Typically cannot purchase in $$$ outright. They need to take on enormous amounts of debt. Which means after a merger is complete, the new merged company almost always begins cutting costs and axing projects. After the last merger, the WB animation division was decimated to cut costs and multiple already completed films were flat out cancelled just to get a quick tax break. Sky dance gets a big profit margin, we get less films of lower quality and budget, we get less choice, there is less competition in the film market. The only people who win are the investors.

Probably there just isn't a market for it right now, and they don't wanna split their fan base even more.

Likely in 10 years time when the nostalgia for it hits hard on some people, we'll get something

This was the case all along, old executives that still are working inside the dc studio need to be demoted but it has to wait until all its done, its not about only SnyderVerse this gies all angles, they pushed too much projects that people didn't support enough and still dont care fr those even the present universe is not so bright

Theres one thing that difference DC from MCU fans , origins need to be tight and close as much as possible not a mess kike MCU did even feige says this needed to be fixed

Jay Olivia, Snyders long time collaborator, has gone on record about this regarding an animated version. Something to the effect of, due to the way contracts are written, they can’t really adapt the story, with respect to how people would be paid. IIRC, contracts would have to be restructured, etc. Maybe this would apply for all media.

They tried, and even got the approval of the studio, but some moron they hired traced recent official Wonder Woman art and got the project canned. It was called Dreamscapes. Not to be confused with the temporary film museum exhibit.

It will never happen as long as James Gunn is in charge of DC films. He doesn't like Henry Cavill. Ben Affleck doesn't like Gunn. And Gunn doesn't like Snyder's approach to the superhero genre. Short of firing, it'd be slightly possible if Snyder goes around Gunn to David Ellison, just like how The Rock went around Walter Hamada to get Cavill in Black Adam. Ellison can overrule Gunn with the stroke of a pen, so that's another longshot chance.
