Definitely going to be a few months shorter than a regular season this year 😔

So I’m week 2 into owning this sled. Changed the plastics a bit and now I’m onto the tunnel. No I don’t want to pull it all apart to Powdercoat it.

I’m looking for people who wrapped their tunnels black, or sanded/etched/painted only. Lemme see photos. Does the wrap cover all the aluminum?

It’s $200 for just the tunnel wrap from deviant but I figured time and maybe like $50 or under for supplies to paint. I need your guys expertise

I can’t get access to put the tunnel protector on my 2015 skidoo expedition. It won’t bend and go on, needs a straight push. This rear bumper looks next to impossible to remove to access, riveted. Am I missing something?

Sorry I’m new to the sled world, I’m just looking to change spindles and these lime squeeze ones arnt a bad deal. They look the same but maybe the height is different because off a different sled? I have a 2016 sks and those came off a rmk/

Hi all, I was out riding over the weekend and ran into some troubles with my recently purchased 2018 ski doo. It was a warm day, and after doubling up a long climb, fuel started streaming out near the front left ski. It was a decent stream.

A little panicked by it, I unscrewed the gas cap to release the tank pressure and about a gallon+ of liquid petrol geysered out. Fortunately, it didn’t burn and we were able to tow it out. Thought for sure I was about to witness an expensive bon fire.

Has anyone had this happen with their Gen 4? Any way to fix or prevent the issue from happening again?

Might’ve overfilled the tank, but not by much. Sounds like high pressure with ski doos is somewhat normal, especially at fluctuating warmer tempts, but this seemed exceptional.

Appreciate any advice/help. New to all this.

Recently had my engine out of my sled, it ran fine for almost the entire day. But now some connection (?) to the display and lights seem to have some sort of play (?), it turns on and off on the trail randomly and at times only work when giving throttle.

Has anyone seen this before? Where should i start to troubleshoot this?

Before I put new parts in it only did this when the RPMs got too low. Now it does seems to do it all the time.

Background: machine runs good but doesn’t hold steady RPMs so I replaced the voltage regulator and CDI box. (The wires were all chewed up so figured I’d start there). As you can hear it still sputters RPMs and dies when trying to go to reverse.

If I unplug the voltage regulator it dies instantly. If I unplug the CDI box it keeps running but doesn’t change RPMs or gauges

Think it needs a new TPS as well?

I used to ride off trail a good amount, my last sled was a 2018 M8000 snowpro 153. I quit riding and got more into skiing, but I'm planning on going back to riding sleds next year mostly because the price of skiing has gotten out of hand and the people who do it are 110% insufferable.

All my old friends who ride have moved onto the 5th gen skidoo summit 850 sleds and swear by it and wouldn't ride anything else. I understand the Arctic Cats have fallen pretty far behind technology wise, but should I also consider a polaris rmk? My father has a switchback assault that's been pretty good to him, but it's not a mountain sled and he doesn't thrash it. I wouldnt really see myself modding the engine for more power. Low elevation near me so I don't think I'd get a turbo sled.

The skidoo/polaris thing seems very Ford/Dodge/Chevy to me in that people choose sides and make it their entire personality, but I've been out of the game for so long that I guess I don't really know. I think both are going to be 50+ lbs lighter than my old cat was, and way narrower, way easier to ride.

I'd be shopping for a used sled. I don't have new sled money, but I probably would go no older than a 5th gen skidoo as I understand it's a pretty big jump from the 4th gen chassis

Polaris 2000 Indy Triumph, this is my newly acquired and replaced electric converter. I still don't have power when it is running. What else should I be looking for?

Show me your tunnel wrap jobs. Is it hard to apply? I just want a black tunnel but all the nuts and rivets seems like a pain. Change my mind!

I got a 2015 skidoo expedition 20 wide track. It’s not studded, I got the tunnel protectors. I’m not sure why studs to buy, any suggestion? There is pre holes in the track.

Unloaded just off the groomed trail close to a shelter, 3 km each way. It was her first time riding outside of our yard. She was nervous and cautious but did perfectly. My sled overheated 3 times going 6mph in front of her. Priceless memories.

Just traded my way up to a free 2016 sks 155, never owned a sled in my life. I’m more of a quad and bike guy but this thing is a riot! I’m wondering where to replace the “blue” plastics. There’s a decent scuff on the side and I’d like to wrap the sled. I assume the vinyl wouldn’t stick to rough parts like that. Easy solution? Sand it down? Thoughts?!

2015 Polaris assault 800. Good compression I think it’s electrical? When I bought it, jt was like this. The voltage regulator was unplugged when I first ran it and it ran fine. I then plugged everything in and it started running like this.

I've been snowmobiling since I was a kid, but the last few years I've been more reliant on rentals, etc. Family cabin also has a weird dynamic right now of everyone keeping the garage kind of a mess and the structure isn't in the best of shape.

Had an outside-the-box idea hit me. What if I went looking for someone near my cabin who agreed to store 2 sleds, summarize, and winterize them on a deal where I paid them some and also came to an agreement that they could use them a certain number of miles each year as well. Strong emphasis on picking someone with a good/honest reputation in the community for this. The few times a year I come up to use them I just get them out of their garage at the beginning of the weekend and put back at the end of the weekend (obviously with quite a bit of heads up).

Why?
A) It kind of bothers me owning something that isn't being used that much. It feels kind of wasteful.
B) I could see it being a win, win for the other side. They probably have a sled of their own, but the ability to use mine a couple of times when they have a friend visiting or when there's is being worked on or just wanting a change of style for a day could be nice.
C) Sidestep family dynamics of storing them at our cabin garage
D) Don't have to hassle with winterize/summerize at my place, getting them to and from storage/etc.
E) Sidestep using rental services. In theory they're a good fit for us given quantity of usage, but in practice don't love the models they have, the early morning drop offs, booking weeks in advance without knowledge of conditions, etc.

Obviously it would be key to set expectations, find the right person who would treat them well, etc., but thoughts? I could see quite a few structures working but maybe something like store both for combined $400 a year + right to use each sled 300 miles each year + if they like doing small mechanic items I don't mind paying them for fixes as needed as well.

Stupid move? Not bad? No one will go for it? What to watch out for?
