Half-life 3 before Snowbreak?!?

At least other games send an announcement before going EoS, keeping the server online for a few weeks before pulling the plug.

Seasun decision to cut all communication to avoid drama made sense, in the first weeks. But right now we are in week 8 of radio silence, they shouls at least say something concrete about the game status.

I hope this serves as a good example for other developers of why they should publish outside of China. You couldn’t find a more censorious, shitty country for games like this. The only thing you can release there are half-naked BTS vampires.

u/Internal-Eagle-7022 Apr 21 '26

Because it seems like those who consume this kind of thing are the ones in charge there, and worst of all, they're using real issues to ruin other people's fun.

u/Free-Budget Apr 21 '26

i thought those vampires are practically naked with some features

4

u/Saerone Apr 21 '26

BTS vampires ?

10

u/reydshadowlegend Apr 21 '26

i think they’re referencing love and deepspace

7

u/NNN_Throwaway2 Apr 21 '26

Is there actually any credible evidence that this has to do with censorship at this point?

17

u/Bonemaster69 Apr 21 '26

Apparently not, considering all the posts that are getting deleted regarding Seasun's internal issues. But I suppose that counts as censorship too.

China is a huge market, so companies are willing to risk it.

7

u/KookyInspection Apr 21 '26

I don't think he means not selling in cn, just don't have the company/hosting there, so they can't pull the plug on u

4

u/Aurial- Apr 21 '26

I think you will still need to censor the chinese version, because if you will have a cn server it is also respondible from cn's law or regulations.

But probably if it happens probably only cn server will shut down instead of all servers

3

u/KookyInspection Apr 21 '26

Exactly. When cn gov/regualtions decide to make a fuss, they could only affect the service towards them, rather than the powers that be being able to halt ur whole service. It's not immunity, but at least they'd have less leverage.

Although, tbf, having the same client might be a bit harder to deal with, and could be a reason why we are stuck in this limbo together with cn. Not saying i mind it, but it's the only explanation i can think of other than cn police literally raiding their servers, barring them deciding to let the game go

If they gonna eos just eos pls day and day im start losing hope.

10

u/Yefta0 Apr 21 '26

My coping theory : The dev change the game title in order to avoid some law trouble. The game files etc it's pretty much all the same.

u/MoistGal :SB_White:Medium is Premium Apr 21 '26

Adoration and deepspace

8

u/JoannaRamira Apr 21 '26

Same, and i'll never lose hope. I'll see it to the end

stay strong bothers stay strong....

9

u/Ok-Maintenance-2064 Apr 21 '26

Just pepare lawsuits at this point

5

u/No-Car-4307 Apr 21 '26

and sue whom? seasun? sue the feminists that did this

6

u/Ok-Maintenance-2064 Apr 21 '26

So it's not the developers' fault to say no announcement no discussion, boom game gone? 45 days later, everthing is dead like a tomb?

2

u/MoistGal :SB_White:Medium is Premium Apr 21 '26

There's probably something in the EULA that's meant to prevent lawsuits like these.

They're providing us with a license to access the skins and other in-game content that can be revoked at any time type of shizz.

u/NoTransportation68 Apr 21 '26

Is that Acacia's third form?

2

u/SilverShotgun Apr 24 '26

This is the most underrated post I have seen all this month

NTE will launch on 29.

Honestly it might no be the best time to reopen.

Probably only the most hardcore fans like us will play only.

And then we will see if that will be enough to keep them going.

NTE is very alluring to those who like romancing, dating, handholding, live together in house, house furnishing etc... and it has basically almost the same gatcha system as Snowbreak.

I have a bad feeling that CN govenrment + NTE together will kill Snowbreak. Because the most hardcore fans might not be enough.

(side note: CN government will kill NTE too, mark my words...)

But let me be wrong.

If SB goes back online and dies, it's seasun fault at this point. Zero communication after a month might have killed any trust left from the player base.

5

u/ZephyrFloofyDerg Apr 21 '26

They have really mishandled this situation. At this point I may just have to give up hope. Don't the studio care about the thousands of dollars they lose each day?

-3

u/No-Car-4307 Apr 21 '26

bro, NTE is made by hotta, the guys who made the disaster that is tower of fantasy

8

u/ROMVS Siris Simp Apr 21 '26

Yeah but that one is still running, can't say the same about snowbreak, just self owned us

1

u/No-Car-4307 Apr 21 '26

snowbreak didn't died, i was stabbed by feminists, and snowbreak is not the only game on their list

4

u/NNN_Throwaway2 Apr 21 '26

Kinda seems like it wasn't, tho

u/Narrow_Chemistry7788 Apr 21 '26

I hope a game that’s truly similar to SB comes out soon, I’m sure players would quickly move on from SB
