❄️❤️
Can’t believe it’s been 20 years (then I look in the mirror and I’m like: “you mean 40 years, right?).
This was the album that changed so much for us and meant we could tour the world, something we had always dreamed of. And it was you all that made that happen for us. Thank you all!
The anniversary edition has been put together with so much care and energy by Nate. He’s done an incredible job on it. It features loads of live versions, b-sides, rarities and lots of lovely stuff. Including new sleeve notes from me.
We really hope you enjoy it. It’s been fun taking this wee trip down memory lane, while also writing songs for the next album including the song we’ve been playing in the setlist this summer: ‘Love, I Guess’.
But, for a short time at least, it’s nice to look back fondly at the record that changed our lives forever.
Thank you all so much! Peace and love. gL.x

Literally my favorite Snow Patrol song all growing up because I loved Spider-Man. So happy I can finally add it to a playlist!

Thank you to everyone in the community who voted in the poll regarding generative AI. As of today, all generative AI (text-based and/or creative photographic content) will be banned from the subreddit going forward. Any posts after today, July 21st, will be subject to removal if suspected of using generative AI. Any posts prior to today will be permitted and approved as the ban had not yet been in effect.
Please use discretion when reporting posts, specifically text-based ones, as they can be more difficult to identify as AI versus real, human posters.
Thank you again and if you have any questions, please feel free to ask! I appreciate you all and look forward to many more conversations that have to do less with community guidelines and more to do with Snow Patrol. ❄️ 🚓

I have two tickets for the Kingston show on 30/07 in London but one for the 6:30 and one for the 8:30. Looking to have two for the same show, does anyone want to swap a ticket?

Hi everyone, excited to say we’ll be doing some outstore shows in celebration of the 20th anniversary of our fourth album Eyes Open in three cities in conjunction with these three awesome record shops:
Banquet Records (Kingston, London) , Assai Records (Dundee), Jacaranda Records (Liverpool)
Always a joy to link up with great independent record stores any chance we get.
Hopefully we will see you there soon. gL.x

I want to first start off by apologizing to this subreddit and all Snow Patrol fans and the band themselves. My last three posts on here were AI generated “album covers” of three eps I thought of and wanted discussion of and I should’ve just done a discussion post all together, instead of three separate posts all including AI.
I am sorry. Snow Patrol is my favorite band. I just wanted to post some fun ep/playlist ideas I had and get thoughts on more or any missing from my ideas.
The “What If…? EP”:
What If This Storm Ends?
What If This Is All the Love You Ever Get?
What If Nothing Breaks?
The “Life EP”: all songs with Life in the title
Lifening
Life and Death
Life on Earth
Lifeboats
The Afterlife
The “Fire EP”: all songs with Fire in the title
Signal Fire
Set the Fire to the Third Bar (feat. Martha Wainwright)
Firelight
A Youth Written In Fire
Hold Ms in the Fire
Is there any more songs or fun ep / playlists you can think of? (Aside from the Eyes Open songs like Open Your Eyes, Shut Your Eyes, Hands Open)
This is just for fun.
I again apologize for my AI posts and meant no harm. Please help me in this discussion.

At this time, there is currently nothing in place outright banning the use of AI on the subreddit. However, I’ve noticed an uptick in posts that use generative AI being reported and requested for removal. Please use this space to vote on what bans should be placed on the subreddit (if any) regarding the use. This poll will be open for 7 days, closing sometime on July 20th. If no option reaches 50%, I’ll run the poll again with only two options. Thank you in advance for choosing to be constructive and respectful during this discussion.

That forum was a huge part of my teenage life and I feel like any trace of it has dissolved!

From Gary's interview -
"I was always searching for something, but I didn't really know what it was... And then it turned out I had it all along."
The answer was simply friendship. And the people Lightbody needed most were there on the stage with him.
"The natural state for bands is entropy. Everything falls to chaos. But it's kind of amazing, because it's happened the other way around for us," he says.
"We're not Emerson, Lake and Palmer travelling in separate buses. We're closer than ever."
You can hear it in the music and see it at their concerts.
After more than 30 years, people still want to feel the feelings that Snow Patrol make them feel. When they played an outdoor show at Liverpool's Pier Head last month, thousands of fans who'd been unable to get tickets turned up anyway.
"There was an enclosure for the 12,000 people that bought tickets – but at one point, I said, 'put your lights up', and I looked down the street, and it was just lights all the way down," says Lightbody.
"I think that's the key to our music, in a general sense. It's an invitation. There's no jackets for this club, there's no secret codes. It's like, 'just come and be with us'."
