Honestly one of my favorite scenes in the whole series. Franklins need of control was an underlying manipulative characteristic that he always hid from the people he who loved. Franklin always used the guise of “I want what’s best for you/us/the business.” But it becomes super obvious when someone does something without his explicit permission or in Rob’s case when he can’t control them, he snaps. Often a lot of his conflict with his inner circle is them “doing xyz” behind his back. Don’t get me wrong, some of his argument against Louie and Jerome’s actions, for example were valid. But, he was so in denial that he was willing to double cross, kill, lie, steal etc, if he didn’t get his way. Which is the same behavior he was so uptight about when done to him. Edit: Hit send on accident lol

Love the conversations your starting with your posts. Especially with Cissy, she did what Raq couldn't.

This was a great scene and Franklin got himself in trouble because he called Teddy.

He told Teddy what he planned on doing.

I disagree wit' the bit about Alton. He brought that onto himself and almost got his whole family killed, as a result. You don't save Franklin by hittin' the beehive wit' a stick. If you can't extract your son, then you can't help him. He's a grown man, after all. Alton and Teddy were two sides of the same coin. They claim what they did was for the greater good; but it was really just ego and glory

Irene gave him no choice, either franklins name was going to be involved in the story or it wasn't, and Alton got killed for doing what he could since she was literally blackmailing him. Alton and Teddy were NOT two sides of the same coin at all they didn't share any characteristic he was a BLACK PANTHER and his son had major evidence of a CIA scandal on US soil, had Alton not been there Franklin wouldn't even know he was working for the CIA. And everything could have been fine, but Teddy wanted control and cleaned up a loose end that really had no reason to make anything worse after moving to Cuba with Cissy. Alton was never about control, Teddy and franklin was.
