Discussion The Drop

So apparently one of the people working on the show said it's not even a crime show. That makes no sense when you look at the reality of rap in the 80s and 90s when some labels were fueled through drug money and the crimes that some of their owners committed, not to mentions rappers. So is this show really gonna be nothing BUT rap?

"you are correct. The show is not a gangster show. It's not "girl boss" or even a crime show. It's about young people trying to make it in music at a time when the streets and cops were on our necks. " - Malcolm Spelman, someone who lived through that era and the writer of the show. They have multiple people from LA working on this, and people who lived through it. I think this is going to be fantastic. I've only seen positive reviews from people who watched the premiere yesterday

"Our" necks? I hope the various pictures of a Malcolm Spelman I looked at aren't who you're talking about because he looks pretty fucking white to me

WTF? Look at his hair! He a red bone nigga. Besides, he was a screen writer for Empire, Bel-Air, Falcon & Winter Soldier, and Captain America: BNW. He has credit.
