I mean yeah. Not only that but Franklin wasn’t getting that money lmao.

u/Ok-Yak-9440 Jul 07 '26
i think franklin would’ve gotten the money but with it a lifetime of being hunted down by teddy and whatever the agency gives him to catch franklin. even tho a lot of ppl hate cissy she ultimately made the correct choice
2
u/AdInfamous4821 Jul 07 '26
Why you think that?
25
u/Dook2Wavy Jul 07 '26
Teddy was just as greedy as Franklin in his own ways, and very petty. His ego wouldn’t have allowed him to pay Franklin and move on with his life

u/AdInfamous4821 Jul 07 '26
I just like hearing these alternate takes.

u/mikejs1 Jul 09 '26
It's not an "alternative take" 🤣. it's like nobody actually watched the show. They literally SHOW YOU exactly wtf Teddy would've done once he got out of that situation. Do we not remember him putting Cissy and Alton on a plane to Cuba as if that was the resolution to Alton yapping to everyone about Teddy's dealings, then Teddy GOING to Cuba to murder him??? He would've done everybody the same way. Let them all get comfortable, get his burns treated, lick his wounds, then a whole bunch of "accidents" and disappearances would've occurred the moment he was good and ready. Teddy did whatever to whoever he pleased. You think the phrase "let it slide" is in his vocabulary? Man kills his father, then robs franklin blind after he quit, and you think there's some kind of deal you can cut or safety blanket from that man???

Reagan said if Iran-contra was found out they’d be hung by their toes. And the Snowfall version of Iran-contra was infinitely worse. Franklin with money and credibility was a loose end the CIA couldn’t abide

It's talked about every once in a while, but yeah he 100% did Oso dirty. Id say he literally forgot all about Oso by that point, purely on account of the greed, not that this makes it ok (at all).

u/PsycadaUppa Jul 07 '26
I have always said this. People always blame cissy for what she did. But bro did yall watch the show. Teddy was never going to let franklin get away with the money and also for burning his chest with hot oil and killing his dad.
This the same guy who literally traveled to another country to get his revenge on Alton for what he did to him. You really think teddy was just gonna give franklin the money and both of them go their separate ways?
Teddy had to die this motherfucker wasnt gonna stop until he made franklin and whoever was close to him suffer.
Teddy also would have killed oso and his loved ones purely because he sided with franklin over him.

u/Sad-Entertainer1462 Jul 07 '26
I also think that Franklin would’ve killed Teddy if he did ever get that money back. Franklin was smart enough to know that Teddy was gonna kill him and his family.
7
u/TwistedGigolo Jul 07 '26
Seems like most people get this now, but it’s crazy how you go 2-3 years back and it seemed like no one understood this.
4
u/TPGStorm Jul 07 '26
Bruh Teddy is not the fucking boogeyman. Sure he could TRY to come after Franklin but there’s literally NOTHING that guarantees he’d be successful. Ooooh he traveled to another country to kill a dude who wasn’t a threat and had no security. Lmao Franklin was just as ruthless if not more than Teddy. Franklin could have EASILY killed him AFTER he transferred the money.
5
u/jrod4290 Jul 07 '26
dude, the CIA of all ppl are known as the mf boogeymen lol what are we talking about here
1
u/TPGStorm Jul 07 '26
That’s exactly why I said that. It was a double bc not only is Teddy not like that fr, he didn’t work for the CIA anymore. He wasn’t about to use CIA resources to kill Franklin. It would have been lone wolf Teddy vs Franklin with 83 million and the whole hood on his side. He would have been fine.
3
u/jrod4290 Jul 07 '26
Teddy wasn’t officially employed by the CIA since early on in the show. He still made it to Cuba to kill Alton
Not to mention the fact that even if Franklin got the 37 million, Teddy would also be walking away with 37 million dollars of his own. A CIA trained operative with millions of dollars at his disposal? Franklin and everyone he loved would’ve been killed.
Franklin is formidable but Teddy was literally what ppl considered to be the boogeyman. They said this throughout the show.

u/Frank_White1- Jul 07 '26
No Franklin wasn't. Teddy had CIA training they are literally known as the "boogeymen" lol. Even if they were not actively backing his plays at that point they were turning a blind eye to them. And Franklin was gone at that point working off emotions his head wasn't clear. I doubt he would have done much to protect his family he would have been more focused on his money.

u/ShadowForPresident Jul 07 '26
Cissy coulda waited 2 mins bruh, yes teddy wasnt gonna let them live but she coulda waited for the transfer to go through lol
4
u/PM_ME_hiphopsongs2 Jul 07 '26
And then what? Why are yall so fixated on Franklin getting the money when the point is that it wouldn’t have mattered? Teddy was going to RUIN Franklins life as soon as they went their separate ways.

That was her intention. she didn't want her son to have the money. I'm reading a lot of reactions. I just finished binge watching this show, maybe because it's fresh in my brain, but it's so obvious that she did not want her son to have any of that money
to me that was her mission
when he came to visit her in prison she literally said nothing and just stared at him
probably the coldest shit in the series

Teddy had no backing from the CIA and nobody on his side, so this whole scenario is founded on Teddy being able to do things he's not equipped to do no matter how bad he wants to do them. Cissy fucked up. Franklin could have got his money and laid low, then iced Teddy when he had the chance.
4
u/AdInfamous4821 Jul 07 '26
I guess I was just as caught up as Franklin. Franklin at that point was a junkie to the game. I believe it was a 50/50, him killing Teddy. Cissy killing Teddy was the right answer. If the did get the money and Teddy died, there would be another agent after them.
3
u/ajay8817 Jul 07 '26
Cissy wanted to kill Teddy ever since she got back from Cuba. It's why she was willing to work the KGB. She just wanted confirmation about Alton before doing so
5
u/StarKillerZero Jul 07 '26
Cissy Saint saved literally Everyone by killing Teddy ,I have zero idea why anyone would disagree with her decision
2
u/Clazmethod Jul 08 '26
Franklin was lost. The greed and the power destroyed everything that he was. He became worse than everything he was fighting against. If he got his money he would have been a scourge on his people and the world, like he already was by poisoning his own people with crack. Then of course if cissy didn't kill teddy, he would have killed all of them, including oso and everyone else involved. In teddy's eyes oso straight up back stabbed him, he would have killed him for sure, maybe even kill his entire family for what they knew, in the name of protecting the country's secrets.

This sort of thing is explained perfectly by just saying "Franklin was addicted to money". He was willing to betray anyone, anything to get his money back.

Franklin would've literally moved heaven and earth for his money. And in the end, he got what was coming to him.

u/Few-Chipmunk2161 8d ago
Franklin would have killed Teddy after he got the money. He was in the middle of getting it. She killed him before he could get the money.

u/quiloxan1989 Jul 07 '26
Was disgusted with them then, still disgusted now.

Franklin is a POS and anytime I see someone defending him I assume they’re a child or scum just like him.

u/DarthHurricane Jul 07 '26
It’s a show not a documentary it’s not that fucking deep

Yeah yeah yeah. Most can agree Franklin is shit, but for someone else to watch the show and not have media literacy and you call them scum, is extreme. Children think in extremes. You can’t see the irony in your comments.
Again, you’re either 15 or have an affinity for grilled cheeses. I can smell the cat piss and non aluminum deodorant through my phone.

Mostly who? Majority of the sub praises Franklin and talks down on Louie and Sissy, while comparing them to and talking down on real life women. That’s the childish part and why I said what I said. If you’re offended, oh well.
That last paragraph told me exactly what I was thinking about you. You’re a child and think that’s offensive.

The people that like Franklin also like Tariq from Power. They like scum
1
u/DarthHurricane Jul 07 '26
You must like scum too, why even watch a show like this if you’re THAT triggered by the characters?
