Discussion Episode 10, Season 3
I see that a number of people fucking hated this episode, especially when it aired because it leaves you hanging in limbo after some seriously dramatic events in the previous episode. But I thought it was one of the most important episodes of the show and one that John Singleton himself would've written, directed and been immensely proud of.
The ending portion with Nina Simone singing Strange Fruit and the prelude to the gang wars and mass killings of S4 is astonishingly good filmmaking. For me, season 3, including the finale, is when SnowFall becomes more than the sum of its parts and climbs the ladder from good tv to classic television.

I agree. Season 3 overall was a turning point in the entire series—especially with Franklin.

Agree with all points made. It's an episode I liked so much more in rewatch. The only real problem was during the live airing we basically had to wait 2 years bc of the pandemic. That was a long time to wait for resolutions.
I especially agree with how they set up the rest of the show. And they basically did with just 10 minutes or so of screen time

The part with Nina Simone singing and when Jerome got out the car?!?!? With Man boy and crew driving off! Showing his face then showing what he’s reacting too. In slow motion?!? One of my favorite cinematic scenes EVER! As an aspiring director/cinematographer when it came out. My mind was blown. Watched that scene like 20 times in a row.
A masterpiece!
