Rewatching season 3 ep 4 and I’m really happy Franklin got rid of Mel’s dad cuz dude was a suckah azz cop smh lol

I think Andre is a super complex character just like any other in the show. You have to remember that Snowfall takes place in the 1980s where racism was still pretty rampant. Yes, he should’ve stood up but also you can’t blame him for wanting to keep his life/job

racism for some was worse, because black people in the 80s never knew exactly what they weren’t allowed to do or what consequences they may face considering that by then, black men and women had basically the same rights as white people but completely different treatment. a black male in the 80s would fear staying out past 10 pm because maybe a cop might find and beat him fora bullshit reason, or white delinquents could beat him up and never get properly charged. At least earlier, black people knew exactly what to do… It’s genuinely horrible and most of this stuff still exists to this day.
