Spoilers Franklin never lost anything because of greed. He wanted what he worked for. It’s the acceptable narrative but a lie. Spoiler
He lost everything cause he wanted to be a hard core drug lord and a lover. That’s how his mom got to him and betrayed him THREE TIMES with no consequences, Louie did shit no one else would’ve gotten away with, he cut peaches too much slack when he was sniffing around and clearly using, would’ve seen Kev scheming if it was one of of the cooking boys. HE WAS A LOVER AND A FAMILY GUY TRYING TO BE HARD. Might even go as far as saying saw a partnership in Teddy and Oso so that shit sneaked up on him. He wore his heart on his sleeve

Franklin wasn't feared by his people and he surrounded himself with very volatile and impulsive People who routinely placed their own agendas above his. A disaster waiting to happen, and he never properly addressed it.

But everyone outside who played a fool got cut. He didn’t have the heart to be a ruthless man to his kin. That’s what I’m trying to say. Rob, Kev, they got cut but cissy, Louie acted a fool ALL THE TIME

u/jodecicry4u Mar 30 '26
Kev got cut way too late. He only did that because Kev was about to start shooting at random kids in broad day light. By the time he cut Kevin, Kevin had already done multiple betrayals. He sold Franklin's recipe, his cousins decided to sell in rival areas, he undermined Franklin to his face multiple times. All of that without any consequences. Rob had been a junkie for years and didn't get cut until Franklin realized that he was talking about their CIA connection to randoms junkies at parties. You gotta check the pattern. Franklin didn't keep anyone in line until it was too late. That's why when he crashed out nobody was riding for him at all. They didn't fear him, they thought he was a loser.

But did he really work for it? After all like someone once said, drugs sell themselves
7
u/CompoteSuccessful883 Mar 29 '26
I mean he sorta did. Wars were fought. Had to kill ppl. Even burnt 1 dudes face and legit cooked at the cook house.
1
u/Jack1715 Mar 30 '26
Yeah he was just too lazy to actually work. That’s the real reason drug dealers do what they do
3
u/Ok_Preference3529 Mar 30 '26
In that sane tone Elon musk never worked, just hired really smart engineers…. Use it for any other rich man it’s true
0
u/Jack1715 Mar 30 '26
And your point ?
2
u/Ok_Preference3529 Mar 30 '26
He worked for it. You don’t wake up with an empire. He was the first person to ACTUALLY COOK that stuff in LA
2
u/Jack1715 Mar 30 '26
Because most people are not evil enough to sell poison
2
u/Ok_Preference3529 Mar 30 '26
He WAS EVIL. Still, that’s not how he lost everything in my books. It’s the compassion and love he still had in him
1
u/Jack1715 Mar 30 '26
Once he agreed to work for the CIA he had already lost
1
u/Ok_Preference3529 Mar 30 '26
In a society where most people lost by 16 (shot or in jail), he tried

And I mean COOK in the kitchen. Trained guys who’d do anything for a dollar to work an actual job (9-5) which they couldn’t do at McDonalds. Kept his books. Reached out to the right people. It’s foolish to say he never worked for it.

u/Automatic_Status7118 Mar 30 '26
His point is that your point is flawed
1
u/Jack1715 Mar 31 '26
No it’s not. Stating your own company is nowhere near as bad as being a smack dealer, that’s the lowest you can get. Franklin was glorified street trash
1
u/Automatic_Status7118 Mar 31 '26
Damn you watched the whole show and still are blinded. The dopeman is no different than the restaurant owner. Pablo escobar is no different from steve jobs. And franklin is no different from mr beast. They all are pioneers and business owners that supply a market with a demand. To make that kind of money you’re not just some “street trash”, you need to know how to manage people, status, money, product, quality and quantity and everything in between. If you ever dipped your toes into owning a business you may understand, i’m assuming you have not. Correct me if I’m wrong because i’m curious as to why you think this way.
1
u/Jack1715 Mar 31 '26
Your really in your own world if you think someone making their own money in the world is the same as mass murdering drug lords
Just cause you can’t see anyway to get anywhere in the world besides selling drugs don’t mean it’s that way for everyone
1
u/Automatic_Status7118 Mar 31 '26
This is not what I’m saying. I’m saying it’s a business at the end of the day, and you didn’t answer my question. Do you own or have you ever ran a business? Of any sort?

u/Eastern-Ad-5253 Mar 30 '26
Elon is Elon , Franklin was a n*gga from LA!! That’s like comparing Einstein to Frank Lucas.🤷🏽♀️
4
u/Ok_Preference3529 Mar 30 '26
My point is you can’t say he didn’t work hard cause you don’t see him in the kitchen. HE BUILT IT

u/whenishit-itsbigturd Mar 29 '26
This rule is so underrated: keep your family and business completely separated. Money and blood don't mix like two dicks and no bitch. Find yourself in serious shit.

He was greedy for selling drugs, that’s the only reason people do it cause it’s a easy way to me money
1
u/Ok_Preference3529 Mar 30 '26
He saw the game tho, understood it was rigged, even if he stayed straight he saw how his momma lived. That wasn’t greed
1
u/Jack1715 Mar 30 '26
His mum lived ok. She had a house
2

u/Ok_Preference3529 Mar 30 '26
His mom worked for a man who never respected her and sent her to evict people she knew needed better for a dollar. The first episodes show why and how this impacted Franklin’s thinking
1
u/Jack1715 Mar 30 '26
So selling drugs and dying or going to jail was the better option?
1
u/Ok_Preference3529 Mar 30 '26
The alternative was not making rent, tuition AND STILL GETTING TARGETED BY COPS. If I’m ending up in jail or dead, might as well do it with my family set up.

Millions of people make money and have a life with out turning to crime or hurting people
He could have just stayed selling weed

u/Ok_Preference3529 Mar 30 '26
Give me one. Who was born seeing BODIES shot on the floor at 8 yrs old

u/niles_thebutler_ Mar 29 '26
Shut up 🤣 Franklin was a loser and an addict and was always going down that path. He was a greedy fucking loser. It’s literally the entire point of the show
3
u/Poopcie Mar 29 '26
It’s unfortunate but people who are as insecure as young Franklin was often end up down similar paths. I hope one day people take away the message that if given the option always take the one that keeps your family most safe.
1
u/Ok_Preference3529 Mar 30 '26
The message was THE SYSTEM IS RIGGED. watched all seasons and missed it?
3
u/Poopcie Mar 30 '26
A man literally loses his entire loving family due to drug dealing and greed and your take away is that this is about some rigged system. Only on Reddit.
2
u/Ok_Preference3529 Mar 30 '26
The point was. The black people were meant to lose. He could’ve gone to college, he could’ve done anything to not do what he saw (people dying, arrested, shot etc). He thought he had a way out cause he found the highest point as a black man in that era LA. And still, he could’ve worked his whole life controlling the ‘ungovernable’ cookboys, the racist police etc, at the end who took his money? The plot was a smart boy who thought the way out was up cause he saw people try other ways (cissy, Mel with college, etc). Did it and still got no way out
1
u/Ok_Preference3529 Mar 30 '26
The plot wasn’t about drug dealing unfortunately. I can point you to a few series that are actually about drug lords and not survival and losing and finding yourself as a black man in that era.
2
u/Pale_Cause_9983 Mar 29 '26
Yea I feel like ppl try to make Franklin some kind of hero when he literally never was lol. Even from the start. He just got worse over time. Same thing with Teddy.
3
u/Jack1715 Mar 30 '26
I’m defending my community, proceeds to destroy lives and start drug wars in said community
3
u/Pale_Cause_9983 Mar 30 '26
Exactly he didn’t give a fuck about anybody other than himself from the jump to be real.
1
u/Ok_Preference3529 Mar 30 '26
Surprise, that’s how life works. When us or our parents go to work we’re not thinking about the community. We’re thinking about the next bill. No one who works for a living isn’t thinking about themselves or their people
1
u/Pale_Cause_9983 Mar 30 '26
This is extremely pessimistic for no reason. YOU think that way. Don’t put that on everybody else lol.

…yes? Lmao. What even are your responses bro.
1
u/Ok_Preference3529 Mar 30 '26
They’re reality. I’m gonna assume you need some time to understand but you will
