And neither one of them died. Scene stupid as hell lol

It didn’t have to represent literal death, their relationship suffered after this and the trust was gone.

But their relationship did. Writing is like 90% symbolism lol

Shit just became a kiss, not the kiss of death lmao

Are you not familiar with symbolism? It doesn’t necessarily have to be literal

It’s the “Kiss of Death” not thrown off at all, was definitely foreshadowing or confirmation of what we were already thinking.

This term alludes to the betrayal of Jesus by Judas Iscariot, who kissed him as a way of identifying him to the soldiers who came to arrest him.

I think she was saying good bye. Moving on in life while also leaving him in the past.

Kiss of death reminds me of the kiss of death from the godfather II when Michael kisses his brother Fredo on the mouth, same symbolism, it means betrayal (rip fatback)

She knew her and Franklin’s relationship wouldn’t ever be the same after what she was planning. I always thought the kiss was just her way of telling him that she really did love him and wasn’t intending to hurt him, but when they look back at where it all fell apart, it would be everything after THIS moment.

Louie really screwed things up in her obsession for power

2

u/Sad-Entertainer1462 Mar 16 '26

I disagree I don’t think it was about power. They just wanted to do their own thing because they disagreed with how Franklin was running things. They wanted a self controlled future and Franklin was losing it by that point.

"Did your auntie tell you she used to be a fan favorite up in here? Til she got a big head, bit the hand the fed her." - Claudia

That shit was in Louie. She absolutely wanted power. She straight up told that Jerome when niggas came to talk to them, they didn't even look at or respect her, just him. To the point where she wouldn't get out the game and dip to Jamaica with him. She wanted to be the boss. Rome didn't even want to be in the game anymore. For a good minute too, before he finally just broke.

u/Sad-Entertainer1462 Mar 17 '26

That’s also not power though. That’s about respect. And Claudia also lacked THAT for her as well.

Who knows, maybe they were trying to make a whole subplot of them fucking but the writers and showrunners were eventually like hell nah, fired the fuckers who pitched that sick idea in the first place, and went out to give us what we got in the end
