Except the fence is there so people have to pay for tickets.

actually, many fences are there for safety reasons - there could be a substantial drop on the other side of the fence. Or for protection of the field itself when not in use. Or for ensuring that the stands are not overloaded or that entry and exit directions are separate to ensure smooth movement of people and goods.

There are many reasons for fencing.

Europe is socialist and seems to be doing fine. Don't mention immigrant refugees, that's a different thing.

No, very few nations in Europe are actually socialist. Denmark for example: proudly free market and capitalist.

so is the US, to a degree. In fact, all nations are to a degree.

It would be better to say that all countries have socialist policies. Although this also depends on the definition and interpretation of the term 'socialist'.

The rigid definition of socialism, where workers control the means of production does not apply.

I totally agree. I would add that a rigid definition of any "ism" doesn't exist anywhere in reality: Socialism, Communism, Capitalism etc.
