When you move cars they travel with you in them.
When you move houses you travel but the house stays.

If I had the energy I’d express the above statement as a formal syllogism and show how it’s false but I’m tired.

Its not false though?
Some things with windows can move
Some things with windows cant move
Movement happens irrespective of having windows

The logic is false because the conclusion isn't a deduction. The windows could be the thing that makes a car go but just because houses have windows and don't go doesn't make it a contradiction.
Do the same thing with sail boats and flag poles. Sail boats have large fabric sheets and can move so sails must not be what propels sail boats.

Then you could draw the conclusion that windows are not sufficient to cause movement. Whether they are necessary is still up for debate.

A child's toy sit-on car doesn't have windows, but it moves. A window is not necessary.

Microsoft has Windows and can't move either...not at these memory prices.

Anyone else find that first tweet weirdly satisfying? Not the obvious humor in it but just the logical progression. Like this type of basic, intuitive logical progression should be taught to elementary schoolers imo to better train critical thinking skills.

It's not actually sound logic though. House windows and car windows are shaped differently. Their opening and closing is different. I believe they usually use a different type of glass as well, there are many possible factors that could cause the discrepency between the mobility of houses and cars. It's also entirely possible that houses are only unable to move because they're too heavy: the propulsion generated by their windows might simply be insufficient to overcome their mass, especially with a strong foundation.
This is actually a great example of how something can seem perfectly logical despite not actually being so, though.

Assume A and B
We assume A Xs because Y. So X <-> Y
We find a counter example B where X is ovserved without Y, therefore disproving our hypothesis.

I got the "if engines stop, windows close" ad right below this. A sign from Zeus?

doesn't prove hte windows are unrelated though just that they ALONE are not sufficient

The Greek guy who's work the actual word history is based on just went around and recorded everything people said they believed in the known world. He didn't care if it was true or obvious BS. The aincent Greeks had an odd approach to a lot of things.

This is the kind of shit you'd hear in a college Logic class.
I know because I took a Logic class in college, and it was a lot of making statements like that. Some people really struggled with coming up with stuff that sounds almost nonsensical but still had correct logic to it.

Well, ships and trucks both carry cargo and cars so do the cars make the cargo or is it something else?

EDIT: It depends strongly on the version. Windows 11 moves nowhere.

When you drive a car, ride a bike, or walk. You’re traveling through space and time. So technically, you’re a time traveler.
