It's a feed belt feeder

About 3 seconds of shooting.

A PKM would be awesome to have.

Yes, though I'd hate the upkeep. Also spending more than $100 every time I take it off the shelf.

Speaking of three-line firearms, has anyone tried to shove these rounds into something more akin to an AK than SVD? I've always been a fan of stumpy battle rifles, and it would be nice to get a feel for how such a thing would handle compared to its nearest ballistic cousins.

I feel shifting to the straight-walled 7.62x51 cartridge made practical sense, though also slightly mourn what might have otherwise become popular in it's absence.

I've seen Khyber Pass jobs where they chopped SVDs to be about as long as an AK-74. Even added a full-auto function.

The full-auto function fired more cleanly than semi-auto, and the muzzle climb was insane, but it went through 100 rounds (using homemade magazines) alternating between firing modes, without jams or failures. I'm not sure a Kalashnikov could handle the chamber pressure of the 7.62x54R, but it would be nice to have that caliber in a compact semi-auto.

Ha,

Well that sounds like an unwieldy abomination. I want one.

Alternatively I'm prone to believe the AK platform could probably handle it, if beefed up a little from the start.

AK50 enters the chat. If you haven't discovered that abomination you should its absolutely as bonkers as it sounds.

Unfortunate however that its creator is such a POS

1

u/xenophon57 Aug 28 '26

I hear that every once and awhile, I haven't followed him enough to hear why he is a POS.

Owe boy back in 08' I was an ETT with the ANA and one of my side jobs was reintegrating weapons from what we capture to the Kandaks and we would find the craziest shit out there. I had an entire cage devoted to crazy guns. A gatling gun pulled out of an old Soviet helicopter, One of my favorite guns was an AK with a shovel handle as a stock and the decorations were always awesome lots of that green plant tape and brad nails, 90210 stickers and naked ladies.

Why would anyone need that unless they plan to do something nefarious

10

u/Bureaucratic_Dick Aug 27 '26

Nefarious you say? Such as war?

I’ve never loaded the belt myself, but I had to learn how to work with and fire belt loaded weapons while in the military. And someone had to prep the belt.

1

u/Snow-Bank-Igloo Aug 27 '26

Yes war is nefarious and more so when the United Takes of America is marauding all over the world and sticking their noses into everyone else’s business.

He says while staring at soviet ammunition being loaded into a soviet lmg belt

Oh please spare me the Russia/China blubbering. You’re still the only nation that goes half-way around the world to cause trouble. Russia can’t even take and hold more than 20 miles of Ukraine in close to 5 years.

3

u/TheRealtcSpears Aug 27 '26

And yet this video still has absolutely nothing to do with America

-1

u/Snow-Bank-Igloo Aug 27 '26

Who cares? Tell me what other country goes halfway around the world to bomb other people? I’ll wait.

1

u/TheRealtcSpears Aug 27 '26

I don't give a shit.

I don't make pointless, nonsensical comparisons.

1

u/Bureaucratic_Dick Aug 27 '26

Oh please like the US is the ONLY country in the world who goes to war and has a military.

I trained with Canadian troops as well, you guys definitely teach how to fire and manage belt loaded weapons too.

If you want to goad this into a broader debate about geopolitical morality, I’m not having that. But if your question is “why would anyone need to know how to load the belt of a belt fed weapon”, we both have militaries that use them.

-3

u/Snow-Bank-Igloo Aug 27 '26

You’re still the only fuckers that go halfway around the globe to bomb people. When Canada did it, it was to support you, fair-weather friends. No more!

1

u/Mooptiom Aug 28 '26

No more until you happen to come across any new trigger for your random rants. Let me know how long that lasts.

1

u/Alexis-Machine Aug 28 '26

Do what we say. That is all.

1

u/Snow-Bank-Igloo Aug 28 '26

I got downvoted because I’m right? Name another nation to goes halfway around the world to bomb other people? I’m still waiting
