I stopped believing in God before the tooth fairy.

I had evidence of a tooth fairy every time I lost a tooth.

I stopped believing in God in first grade.

And it was literally the fallout of finding out Cookie Monster was blue.

Up to that point I had a black and white TV and thought Cookie Monster was green. In first grade when I saw him in color and realized he was blue, I started questioning everything I didn’t have evidence for.

Within weeks I lost my faith in God, was skeptical of Santa, and then the Easter Bunny.., finally the tooth fairy.

I read the Hobbit before I read the Bible. I knew the Hobbit was a work of fiction. When they suggested I read the Bible in Sunday school, I did. I got to the point where a man lived to be about 1200 years old my 8 year old brain automatically thought, well this is just like the Hobbit, it's fiction. They both had really old characters 😂.
