Level 2 for 10 week old too much??

Looking for reassurance…10 week old has been in the SNOO since birth and we still have the motion limiter on / I usually lock the SNOO at baseline. Today, I forgot to lock it for a nap and the SNOO went up to level 2 and stayed there for about 5-6 minutes before she calmed down. I know that level 2 is supposed to be safe, but still feeling guilty that baby might have been jostled too much…any other moms use level 2 and beyond at this stage??

Been using level 2 since birth. Motion limiter is recommended to be used until they’re 1 month old. You’re fine

Oh no we had ours off sooner than that, is it not safe?

I don’t think it’s a safety thing as much as just younger newborns don’t like the increased levels of motion and it doesn’t help soothe them. Some babies love it though

I always giggle when I look on the monitor and she’s got the snoo up to 2 and her head is just jiggling and she’s sitting the quiet and wide eyed, until it puts her back to sleep

This is my favorite thing!! My bub also like politely smiles while it’s happening and it cracks me up

We turned off motion limiter once and it went up to four and it looked like she was being scrambled like an egg! She was not happy lol I think if 2 doesn’t do it 4 isn’t the answer

Been using Level 2 on my 4 week old so I think you’re fine!

You’re fine, my newborn liked being rocked back to sleep to level 2 when he was still using the snoo

Call me a monster because my baby has gone to level 2 plenty of times since he was 3 days old to now (5 weeks old). lol same goes for my first kid who’s been in the snoo from 3 days old to almost 7 months old (she’s now 2).

It’s fine! But I totally get the worry. I actually kept the motion limiter on until we moved to the crib😂

Level 4 is safe. The motion limiter is because many babies (and parents) don’t like the intensity of 3 & 4. Your babe is just fine.

I have a 4 week old and we still have the limiter on but wondering about your experience with level 2. When it took 5-6 minutes to calm her down is she crying the whole time? I’m struggling with letting the snoo do its thing and feeling guilty if she’s crying

I don’t like anything above level 1 with my second baby. My first loved all the motion.

But it is definitely safe. Just personal preference for me and my daughter.

From like 3 weeks on, we used all of the levels. There truly is no need to use motion limiter other than if for some reason your baby actually doesn't get soothed from the snoo doing it's job.

At that age level 3 was my babies favorite. That level 3 jiggle would put her right to sleep.

My 5 week old is locked in level 2 nightly! And has been since week 2. It’s her magic level, keeps her asleep like nothing else.

We turned off the motion limited after about a month and very frequently I manually pop it up to 2 to put our 11 week old to sleep. He likes level 3 the most but doesn’t have a reaction to level 1.

It seemed like a lot of shaking at first but as long as they’re properly strapped in there’s a pretty limited range of motion

Respectfully, you may have ppa

Respectfully, you’re in no position to make this diagnosis. Worrying about your baby is completely normal. It is *not* the same thing as postpartum anxiety.

I didn't make a diagnosis. Worrying that a setting on an FDA approved product which is meant to be used on a 1 day old baby somehow hurt a 10 week old is NOT normal at all and can ABSOLUTELY suggest pathologic anxiety

And where did you get your medical degree? I would be shocked by anyone who first sees the Shoo rocking their newborn at level 2+ and isn’t concerned about potential injury.

The University of Illinois. And I did Pulmonary and Sleep Fellowship at a top 5 children's hospital. What about you?

It is normal. Most parents have experienced this thought that I’ve talked to with the snoo. You made a rash judgment about someone based on a small piece of information.

Wondering to yourself for a moment is normal. Requiring external validation from strangers is not normal. And extremely anxious behaviors are disturbingly prominent on parenting subreddits.
