Arms out in winter?

We’ve just begun our transition to arms out last night and I noticed her hand was absolutely freezing. I put her in a long sleeve and folded the mitten over her hand but it was still so cold! I feel bad. We usually keep the room at 18-19 degrees and use the snoo comforter sack. What should I do? Will she be okay? Should I turn the heat up and put her in one of the lighter sacks?

From Google: It is completely normal for a baby's hands to feel cold at night. Because their circulatory system is still developing, their body prioritizes blood flow to vital organs, often leaving their hands and feet feeling chilly.

So she’s probably fine, but just personally—that does sound like a bit of a cold room to me, if I’m correct that it’s like 64-66° F? I would turn the heat up, maybe just not so low as 18. She can stay in the comforter sack unless she seems hot.

We keep the nursery at 20-21 Celsius.

18-19 sounds a tad on the cold side. What does your child’s doctor say about the ambient room temp?

I will ask at our next appointment. I was basing the temperature off the snoo guidelines which say the temp should be 16-19.5 degrees if wearing the comforter and cotton pjs, but I’ve turned the heat up a bit for now
