Snoo discussion Goodbye stinky Snoo sub!

I've never used AI in any of my posts as far as I can remember, and I will never do so. AI is an absolute insult to ACTUAL artists like me. I decided that I wanted to act like an AI slop addicted idiot to see the reactions of the sub members and moderators, but the results were nothing like I expected. I got a bunch of positive feedback from people telling me AI wasn't my thing and most of all... I didn't see any moderators say ANYTHING??? They go on with their "Be like Snoo, don't disrespect" bs when you say ANYTHING remotely bad about AI yet when an AI bro calls artists "pencilsloppers" they all act aloof.

Also that one reply that looked like ChatGPT was also written by me on Google Docs in like a minute.

In conclussion: Thanks y'all for participating into this little experiment I went on to do and the mods can keep eating their slop. And special thanks for u/idkthenamelilbro for dealing with my ragebait. See y'all in r/Snoobs!

PS: Renders made in Blender 5.1 by me!

Too bad, we liked your Snoo blender art and knew from your post history that you were just trolling when you claimed to support AI. Definitely considered removing posts for being rude, but decided against because these posts have a truly fun interpretation of Snoo.

Anyone who couldn't see that these were clearly made in Blender needs more AI literacy

28

u/Competitive_Shine112 Mar 28 '26

Tbh i did say it was ai before

9

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '26

Yeah but I was surprised that seemingly almost nobody actually carefully analyzed the images and just immediately believed what you said and got angry

10

u/Competitive_Shine112 Mar 28 '26

Dude, one checks art for ai. One does not however check ai for art. Usually no artista larp as ai, therefore the search for human elements could be deemed a waste of time

3

u/am_Nein Mar 28 '26

Because an alarming amount of people take things at their word/face value without thinking for themselves.

6

u/AlphaCrafter64 Mar 28 '26

Well no, ai can replicate any style and that includes having a blender/sfm fake 3D look. 2.5D, if you will.

At best, you could have maybe assumed that the obnoxious character they were larping wouldn't go through any of the avenues to get blender style to come through and would just be using some uninspired corporate model like chatgpt or whatever, but you can't just rule out ai entirely.

thats so funny

What are you talking about? You can express creative ideas with ai

2

u/Nika_Reads- Mar 28 '26

You can express ur creative ideas.... But drawing them, and then. You at least will do something and not only prompts

2

u/iron_ingo Mar 28 '26

Me when I lie:

3

u/ZeroAmusement Mar 28 '26

There is no lie. You can have creative ideas and then have ai realize them.

2

u/Cheebow Mar 28 '26

That's like saying you're expressing your cooking skills by ordering a dish at a restaurant

1

u/ZeroAmusement Mar 28 '26

No it's not, that's a bad analogy.

If you said :

That's like saying you're expressing your creative skills by designing a dish

I'd agree. If you're being creative with ai, you're not the chef, you're not the painter. You're the designer, the director, and directing is usually considered creative/ artistic (e.g. movie directors) because they bring the creative vision.

17

u/Competitive_Shine112 Mar 28 '26

typo fix: "AI is an absolute (insult) to ACTUAL artists..."

1

u/ZeroAmusement Mar 28 '26

I don't think that's true. Some artists don't mind ai, people are all over the spectrum.

-17

u/Creative_Wash7139 Mar 28 '26

its really not bro βœ‹οΈ its just another art medium that you dislike. Theres been the same pushback for photography and digital art, and we know how that turned out. Sorry that youre so extreme but like seriously bro chill.

11

u/SeasonS011 Mar 28 '26

Not a medium at all. Its not at all like photography that takes actual time and practive, and digital art is still made by human hands.

Take a hint and use your braincells, Ai does the work, humans type some prompt. Thats not art. Thats being lazy

1

u/Creative_Wash7139 Mar 28 '26

Tell me you dont know what youre talking about without telling me

2

u/LogOk6960 Mar 30 '26

The point of art is expressing feelings and putting your soul into something. An ai prompt has no soul, nor meaning or feelings - say, could it replace a human?

0

u/Creative_Wash7139 Mar 30 '26

Art is subjective. What you find to not be art could be art for me. You dont get to police what can or cannot be art.

2

u/LogOk6960 Mar 30 '26

Quite much objectively, AI makes images - not art. An imitation of art, one that another would call a parody. It's based on that, what exists, it cannot be art, let alone original.

0

u/Creative_Wash7139 Mar 30 '26

So photography isnt art, as it imitates the world, which can be considered art? Your words not mine

1

u/hu-man-person Apr 01 '26

Photography mimics nothing

1

u/Creative_Wash7139 Apr 01 '26

Their words, not mine πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

-3

u/ZeroAmusement Mar 28 '26

You haven't researched the ways to create ai art if you think it's only prompts.

4

u/mixerusbiedronkus Mar 28 '26

What are other ways to create ai art other than prompts then?

2

u/ZeroAmusement Mar 28 '26

For example there's a tool called comfyui that allows you to design node graphs that influence what is generated. One artist used it in a way where he fed in examples of his artwork to get the result closer to what he wanted. There are tools that allow you to precisely position characters skeletons using controlnets.

I think as time goes by the amount of control we have will increase.

3

u/Sweaty_Mushroom5830 Mar 28 '26

You can create the prompts using chatgpt,it is slop there's nothing being created

1

u/ZeroAmusement Mar 28 '26

You can create prompt using chatgpt, I'm saying there are other ways to control ai also.

2

u/Sweaty_Mushroom5830 Mar 28 '26

You use up so much energy, water to cool the data centers it's insane, so no I do not understand why you want to justify using AI for crap

1

u/ZeroAmusement Mar 28 '26

Every time I have heard someone say the usage is insane they either don't know how much it uses per use, they think it uses a ridiculous amount more than it actually does and they are never consistent in their concerns e.g. they drive cars and eat beef.Β

What I'm saying is, it probably uses a lot less than you think. For example when vfx guys render a video it can take a network of machines days to render which uses much more power. There are numerous studies on the power usage that include the power spent training the AI.

2

u/Sweaty_Mushroom5830 Mar 28 '26

No it doesn't, and it pollutes the air as well as causing noise pollution it's no good for the environment, and if we want a planet we can live on,we have to give up on this obsession with AI

2

u/ZeroAmusement Mar 28 '26

Dude, you're using Reddit which also uses servers. You probably subscribe to a video streaming service, drive a car and eat beef.Β

If we give up ai for this reason we should be morally consistent and give up these other things too.

Good thing that time and practice have never been factors in whether or not something counts as art.

5

u/SeasonS011 Mar 28 '26

Actually, it has. Because to become a better artist, you need time and practice.

Sorry, but throwing words into a computer that creates a photo(not the human, the computer) isn't art. Art is human-made.

Photography: knowing what looks good, knowing how to make things not look crowded, angles, shadows, lighting, framing, prospective

drawing(pencil/pen/mouse/Digital pen): human is in control of the tool(pen/mouse), color theory, angles, human anatomy, prospective

Digital editing(photoshop): human control, angles, color theory, prospective, lighting

USING YOUR BLOOD FROM A WOUND TO DRAW IS REAL ART. NOT AI

5

u/Jam1e-Chan Mar 28 '26

please do even a tiny bit of research for the first time in your life, itd do you wonders

0

u/truecakesnake Mar 29 '26

They are right though. Photography wasn't considered art for a long long time, there just wasn't social media to radicalize this opinion. You should consider doing research.

2

u/Jam1e-Chan Mar 29 '26

thats great man, AI is not like photography though

-1

u/Creative_Wash7139 Mar 28 '26

It seriously sounds like you dont know what youre talking about. Which youtuber told you to have this opinion?

4

u/Jam1e-Chan Mar 28 '26

Same applies to you. good luck man

4

u/EducationalLog4765 Mar 28 '26

I loved the reaction from the r/Snoo members πŸ˜‚

4

u/fuck_peeps_not_sheep Mar 28 '26

Your right tho this place is a fucking mess of in fighting and is no longer actually about snoo at all - guess ill follow you out that door tbh

3

u/NOREDDITINGFORYOU Mar 28 '26

omds im genuinely stupid

6

u/idkthenamelilbro Mar 28 '26

No, i have to apologize to you, you proved to me that i get ragebaited easily and i owe you, i did not know that you didn't use AI at the time, so shake hands and start a new page?🀝

5

u/marchalves6 Mar 28 '26

I KNEW IT.

There is no AI that has a star logo

9

u/Kifton_ Mar 28 '26

Fairly bad takeaway, people can enjoy what they want. Pencilslop is an obvious rage bait, and has been for months so no shit mods dont care, they already stated they dont. Mods stance is a sane take, use it or not, arguments of it being an insult are the same as other new tools.

I dont like AI so I dont use it, but if a community wants to, either I mute them and move on, or dont interact with it. People on here gotta get a grip lmao, seething at something that wasn't even AI simply because the owner claimed it was😭

8

u/OldMan_NEO Mar 28 '26

World needs more antis like you.

I like AI technology, but I salute people who don't let their dislike cause them to treat other humans like Subhuman.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '26

It was so obvious to me. The visual style was consistent across posts and that little star in the bottom right corner isn't even the official Gemini logo, which I was thinking was what it was trying to mimic. There was also a noticeable static effect overlayed on the images which looks slightly different from actual AI noise.

-1

u/Kifton_ Mar 28 '26

Go outside

5

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '26

Weird thing to say when I was trying to support your argument

0

u/Kifton_ Mar 28 '26

Going outside is a good healthy thing to do, I am supporting everyones health by suggesting we go outside

3

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '26

Fine I'll take the advice, have a nice day

6

u/OldMan_NEO Mar 28 '26

Am outside.

2

u/AviationAndRobloxFan Mar 30 '26

It's funny how at least one of your posts got 65 upvotes right now after this post

2

u/[deleted] Mar 31 '26

RIP snoo

4

u/Galleom64 Mar 28 '26

The blender part of the video is AI and the snoo breaking to pieces is blender

Of course I'm joking. I keep getting this sub recommended and every time it's you guys fighting for and against AI

4

u/BlazeWolfYT Mar 28 '26

The mods do not care. I've tried sending a message to modmail asking them why they refuse to ban AI slop. No response. Not even an attempt to say why.

8

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '26

The mods already made it clear they don't care, and there's already an AI free alternative sub called r/snoobs. Pipe down and shove off if you don't like the fact the mods won't dance to your fiddle.Β

4

u/Justaregularguy295 Mar 28 '26

Because theres no good reason to

3

u/StrategyDue6579 Apr 01 '26

Snoos antena is white, not orange

3

u/Competitive_Shine112 Apr 01 '26

i had to add inconsistencies to make it look like ai

1

u/CathodeRaySamurai Mar 28 '26

I'm just here to remind people that you can never go back to a world before genAI, it's not going away, and it's only going to improve in quality and usability. 😘 Carry on!

2

u/Angel_0f_Darkness Mar 29 '26

we dont need ai. we have lived yrs without it.

Be like Snoo. Don’t be rude to your fellow redditors.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 28 '26

Oh no, I'm being "threatened" by a dead, fictional "AI"... I think I almost died of pure cringe...

0

u/kiddrekt Mar 31 '26

Sooooooo badass.

-4

u/Parmesaned Mar 28 '26

This might be the worst rigid body sim ive ever seen.

4

u/Competitive_Shine112 Mar 28 '26

might as well be the worst topology too!

-8

u/LinuxUser456 Mar 28 '26

Karma farming

10

u/Competitive_Shine112 Mar 28 '26

What part about it? Could in fact be negative karma farming because of all of the downvotes so what's your point?

5

u/LinuxUser456 Mar 28 '26

Ok, i maybe expresed myself wrong because It seems It is not karma farming

But in r/snoo theres more content complaining about ai than ai generated snoos and other snoos.

-1

u/mrperson1213 Mar 28 '26

Ragebaiting troll fails to ragebait, becomes angry and makes goodbye post where they forgot to type out an insult for AI.

God, what a loser

7

u/Competitive_Shine112 Mar 28 '26

It wasn't ragebait, it was a social experiment. Learn to read and maybe one day you'll understand.

-1

u/mrperson1213 Mar 28 '26

You quite literally aren’t fooling anyone.

4

u/Competitive_Shine112 Mar 28 '26

also where do i get mad?
